our human voices singing along with this artist playing piano is a foretaste of heaven and glory, open your hearts door wide open and let the sounds resound in God's air we breathe each day here on earth, soon we will be part of the heavenly choir and our voices will be in chorus for an eternity - be still and listen to all of the sounds of not only worded prayer but songs of joy and adoration

1 What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer! 2 Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer! Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer! 3 Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge-- take it to the Lord in prayer! Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

True - you can play anything you want. As a jazz piano player I do it all the time. But, when I play it the first time through, I play it as originally written -- it's a tradition thing for me. Of course, after the first chorus I improvise a bit.

The fact that this beloved Hymn is still being played by so many persons of different cultures & background is in itself a testimony & tribute to the Composers Charles C. Converse (Music) & Joseph M. Scriven (Lyrics)! Music is subjective & many times we all as players do alter a note here or there because it flows better for us. It certainly is not intended as disrespect to the Original Writers! I take my cue from Singers/Vocalists... Duly noted Sir Greg, Sir John & Co. You are both unique!

Thanks Greg. This is a beautiful arrangement; so many people traet it as a simple "one note after the other" tune to sing to, but you bring a whole new dimension to it. Don't take any notice of those who say you're doing it wrong - that's what makes it an arrangement!

I downloaded the Great is Thy Faithfulness pdf to my ipad...Swiping is so much better than turning pages...I don't have to worry about music falling on the floor-as happened to me once during a recital. The arrangement was very fun to play, and eavesdroppers enjoyed it. I was a big Dino fan and played his music, but now I really like the technique Greg uses. I cannot wait to view the instructional videos. Thanks.

I love Gods creation, What a friend we have in nature. Was Jesus the real name of what Mother Mary called him to come in for supper. Why do we call him Jesus When that was the name of a Mushroom that opened a person up to LOVE. JESUS IS LOVE AND YOU DO NOT NEED A MUSHROOM TO OPEN YOU UP TO IT.

Hi Jenny - I play by ear -- I can barely read music. I just think it honors the composer to play what he/she wrote -- at least in the first chorus. After that, do whatever you want. That's what I do. As a jazz player, we play the first chorus "as written" -- then we improvise.

WOW....REALLY???? If you John Bresnik were as wonderful as you think you are then more people would have heard of you, but we haven't..... so since this is HIS video and HIS composition then why don't we let HIM play what HE wants and you go play somewhere else.... I happen to have enjoyed every note from beginning to end!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL PIECE!
