What a Great Deal, The USMC FILBE Assault Pack!

The FILBE pack, with its zippered access to the lower compartment, means that you can have your sleep system in your ruck and get to it without having to dig out all your other gear, as you would have to with a Large ALICE pack or an ILBE pack. Now, I know that the MOLLE II Rucksack has this feature as well, but let’s be honest; the MOLLE ruck is kinda crappy. It only incorporates a single compression strap for the sleep system compartment, the side compression straps are awful, the drawstring closure is no better than an ALICE pack, and the pack lid is floppy and generally useless.

Right before this video I had some “bushcraft survival”, “grey man theory” dude telling me I am an idiot for wanting my IFAK on my molle backpack, instead of the inside in a pouch. He said I should be dexterous enough to grab my bag, take it off and flip it around & dig through the bag for a med kit. I argued that an IFAK that I can quickly rip off my backpack while still on my shoulders is far quicker & would help if I need to pack a wound or use a tourniquet, thus allowing me to loose less blood and be more levelheaded instead of anxious and fiddling through a bag. I have zero clue if the dude had “military experience”, but no military survival or medical book I have read told me to fiddle through my gear. Also should add that he was talking about being in public with one of these bags, but I see a large amount of molle bags so idk if it matters where I am from or at all. Am I the idiot? I want honest answers.

the less you give off a military like presence the better you should also not look like a hiker I suggest making your own first aid kit and try to keep your pack less than 30 liters in size

@@michaellorenzen8200 I use a small black laptop bag with a little Molle and have a surplus IFAK pouch dyed black, really hard to tell it is one unless you got an eye for it. Typically I only use it hunting, besides that I will have it in my car but nothing else is done with it. Should be fine.
