It's honestly so weird to listen to without Trevor's exquisite storytelling. This song in my opinion was Trevor's best writing and you killed the lead well done 🤘

Classic TBDM song. I remember practicing it when I was about 20. My downstroke wasn't fast enough to play that part that starts after 1:22 so I had to learn and practice alternate picking, upstroke-muted downstroke. Watching the video caused phantom forearm fatique :D

Lets go one of my fave songs to play ever since i heard it on rockband 2. Bought from the Mayhem Festival pack. That song was a goal song since high school 13 years of guitar playing and the past 3 years i have seen the most growth and finally able to tackle some of my bucket list songs. Thank you for doing this i can't wait for you to tackle any of the everblack songs. I love seeing playthroughs from different artists as it helps me get better perspective on how i showed play it then going for comfortable variant for long sessions. This is a nostalgia hit Edit: wrote the other part before i saw the vid but damn dude the chillness of your playing that solo was so calm im always moving pointer and ring fingers never though to hold it like that but makes sense less drag and distance to maintain the speed. sorry fucking fanboying over here but this song means so much to me as a gamer and as a progress check. Thank you again. and appreciate ya acknowledging my request months ago.

@jackcoleman178419 күн бұрын
Not really. Most metal players easily have the same gallop and downpick chops especially thrash players and most of the melodic lines are extremely basic two string outside patterns. They're literally just down up picking outside the string. That's pretty basic bitch shred it's literally a basic picking excercise. And the tremolo lines are pretty basic bitch death metal. What sells the song is the writing and use of the techniques not the techniques themslves. Not trying to talk shit but anyone that has trouble playing this is going to have a long road ahead of them if they want to play death metal. I love Nocturnal but Brandon has way more chops than the technique displayed on Nocturnal.

Always wanted to learn this song but found my ears to not be trustworthy. Loving the clear videos of your hand placements - very helpful. Might have to join SLD to build by BDM catalogue. Do you not have access to stems, or is it just the convenience factor of having drums and bass 99% correct with moises?
@RicardoBuquet3 ай бұрын
I would strongly suggest when you are doing the half time picking that you do all down strokes, it will give it a way more agressive sound. Then when you need to go faster just alternate.
