We have had sheep in the run-in shed all fall, which was also one of the dryest on record. With the onset of the rain this month we have found ourselves with about four inches of muck in the paddocks. This keeps the lot wet and can lead to foot problems with the sheep and goats. So, before freezing temperatures set in, we cleaned both paddocks by hand. It took us about 4 hours, but it is much better and should dry out. We also purchased new metal troughs for feeding grain to the ewe lambs. They are still growing and need additional nutritional support for maximum growth. For the ewe lambs that are bred, they need added support to produce a lamb as well. We also changed the breeding groups this weekend and had some excitement when we changed the rams. Thank you for joining us at Norwal Farm.
