I'm here for any interview with Joppa involved. The man's got a good heart, he's hard working, a family man, and is an example of perseverance through multiple challenges and trials. It's a joy to hear him light up more and more as his project comes together and I'm happy to keep cheering him on. Sorry to get all sentimental but all too often we take the human element out of game development and forget that there are hard working people, not robots, out there putting their blood, sweat, and tears into making their dreams and visions come true (similar to you and me).

Well said. Pantheon is clearly a passion project and that bodes well for how it will end up. There's far to many soulless, corporate games which are designed by a marketing department that end up feeling empty.

Fun Fact: The EQ Necro spell "Screaming Terror" was originally not a mez. It was a fear with a 100% memblur at the end of it but it caused so many trains it was changed to a mez.

I too, am excited for the perception system. It sounds like it'll be like some of the systems in MUDs or 80s/90s adventure games that help with uncovering keys to puzzles.

You said caster dps could use some tuning, but to be honest the Wizard gets great dps. You uhh... just have to get to level 13 to start enjoying it. You get your first taste at 8, but once you get Bolt of Fire, Focus Fire, and The Fiery Orb familiar you really start feeling like a real wizard. Also, Joppa said there are weapon techniques to regain mana. That's only the Shaman and Cleric, I'm not sure why he was implying Wizards had such a thing unless it's something planned for a later level.

@@ran3221 No he wouldn't. The game is totally different than when he was alive. Its truly embarrassing at this point to see content creators PRETEND they are hyped. Redbeard is only hyped because his channel is small and this is a game that is giving him a chance to support their game. He'd never say or do anything to ruin that. You can't really watch this after it being in development for so long and be excited unless you are truly blind.

Brad McQuaid hand picked much of the team making the game. Was good friends with them. Please do not presume to know him better than the team that was friends with him and mourned him. Or to presume why I'm excited about a game or that i would feign excitement. I'm excited because I like it. Full stop. He had drug debts to pay-off. I think he was only in it to milk the kickstarter money with his original Christian friends (zero development experience) that he cobbled together for the kickstarter. When kickstarter failed he “hired” (unpaid interns) the next crew from the EverQuest and Vanguard forums and sought direct donations. Star Citizen spawned several generations of kickstarter “games”. Pantheon was one of early adopters of this business model.
