Can't forget the battle of best PG between Deron WIilliams and CP3. Yup, Deron was a hooper who actually beat Chris Paul in many of their head-to-head matchups. The guy was legit before refusing to follow any of Jerry Sloan's plays, forcing him to resign, then injuries after. That mid 2000's Jazz team was pretty solid: Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur and my favorite player of the team, AK47 himself Andrei Kirlenko.

Chris Paul trade to Lakers was denied by the Hornets for a very good reason. Stern was the acting owner and front office within the organization were adamant that he declines the Lakers offer because all they could offer was aging veterans n a late first round pick. Whereas they got Eric Gordon, Aminu, Kaman and a first round pick from the Clippers. Much better return than a package around Odom, who was never the same and Bynum who never played a game after being traded to Philly.

This draft is so nostalgic, sooooo deep with starters and role-players. As for my 12 player roster, since there are so many good players I had to break it down by position to make it easier (and to keep half the team from being point guards) Start C - Andrew Bogut Start PF - David Lee Start SF - Danny Granger Start SG - Monta Ellis Start PG - Chris Paul Bench C - Marcin Gortat Bench PF - Jason Maxiell Bench SF - Joey Graham (homer pick. this is also the weakest position, only other solid option is Francisco Garcia) Bench SG - Lou Williams Bench PG - Deron Williams 3rd Big - Andrew Bynum 3rd Wing - Jarret Jack

Bad man video bro. I've actually seen a couple other players use the Gortat screen but always see it as a moving screen don't know how it was never called lol
@LockdownK18 күн бұрын
The example I use in the video def looks like a moving screen lol. But typically the center will screen the guard. And if the guard can get there defender in jail going over the screen (aka the defender is behind the guard) then the center will roll and seal off (box out) his defender so the guard has a wide open lane to the hoop
@ElstonGunnII18 күн бұрын
I can see that but I guess it's not really called because the screener is never really 'set' and is more or less (slowly) pushing the defender out of the way
@LockdownK18 күн бұрын
In a way, I should used a different example because there's a way to seal out the opposing center without doing an illegal screen, or fouling I do it all the time when I play pick up basketball because it's like 80% effective versus other rec players

He was not close to Kevin Love as a player also. And those were the third All-stars on Lebron's teams. Plus Anthony Davis, top 75, top 5 player
@sandrasaysyolo643817 күн бұрын
First off, what do LeBron and AD have to do with this video? Did I miss something? Also, you're way underrating Pau. Way more talented on defense then Griffin (shot blocking takes talent), better shooter, better rebounder. Griffin was good, I'm not hatin but he wasn't Pau Gasol

@@sandrasaysyolo6438 What does Kobe have to do with this video? Pau Gasol played for 7 seasons without Kobe, he never made allnba, and was named an all-star once. Now you are disrespecting Blake. Pau Gasol never scored 21+ points in his entire career, yet Blake averaged more with his 8 seasons with clippers. Pau is a better shooter, whattt? Pau Gasol shot 0,4 threes per game, Blake shot 2,1, pau didn't even shoot them. Pau had more blocks, and was a bit better defender, but not a lot. Blake was a better player bi a mile. Pau without Kobe was nothing
@sandrasaysyolo643817 күн бұрын
@@branislavlukic3919 Dude, being a good shooter isn't just shooting too many threes. Look at the numbers Pau was a WAY a better shooter from every single spot on the floor besides the dunker spot. It's not even close. And Gasol was better from the line. Pau was also a waaay better shot blocker, defender and rebounder. And you're really going to try to argue that playing beside Kobe, one of the highest volume shooters in history would offer a better scoring opportunity than play beside CP, one of the best passers ever? Gasol was flat out better.
@branislavlukic391917 күн бұрын
@@sandrasaysyolo6438 Blake Griffin in his best season with Detroit shot 7 threes per game, on 37 percent. Pau never did that, and he wasn't a better shooter because of it. Blake was a terrible shooter in his first days in the league, Pau wasn't, that's the difference, but Blake became a much better shooter than Pau. Pau blocked more shots than Rodman, does that make him a better defender? NO, hell no. You don't understand basketball. Why did Pau's efficiency increase when playing with Kobe? So you understand anything about basketball? Kobe was not double-teamed, he was triple-teamed and quadruple-teamed, how the hell that is not making everyone else baskets easier? Pau's numbers didn't suffer for playing with Kobe, all the players suffer because of playing with LeBron.
@sandrasaysyolo643817 күн бұрын
@@branislavlukic3919 You seem like you're getting really angry and trying to make this personal... Anyway... Griffin practiced shooting threes constantly in Detroit and averaged under 34% at 6.5 attempts per game over three seasons. Gasol never even tried to be a three point shooter and still shot a better CAREER three-point average than Griffin did during his BEST season in Detroit. And let's not ignore that Gasol was better from the line and better at shooting from every other spot aside from the dunker spot. Gasol was CLEARLY a better shooter. LeBron has nothing to do with this whole conversation. I think you're a little lost. Clearly he's living rent free in you're brain 😅 Also, I think you misread my question. I said do you really think playing beside Kobe offers a better SCORING opportunity than playing with Chris Paul? If we're talking about winning it's a different story, but playing beside Chris Paul is a major reason why Griffin averaged more points than Gasol. As per Rodman not being a great shot blocker... I don't see how that's relevant. Are you trying to tell me you think Blake Griffin was a better defender than Pau Gasol? lol. All due respect, I think you gotta rewatch some film.
