What Actually Happened To Miss Delight In Poppy Playtime Chapter 3? - Story Explained

Poppy playtime chapter 3 had a crazy scene when Miss Delight attacked the protagonist. In today's video we breakdown what happened to Miss Delight and what it means for the future of the franchise.

The way she sprints to her death at the end, to me, almost seems on purpose. I wonder if she saw those gates and was overcome by a strike of PTSD, a fear of being stuck in that school again, and a deep desire to end her own life for what she's done. Her movements were limited, she was limping all this time. Then, suddenly she saw the only way she'd be free. And she took it.

This isn't to prove you wrong, but a possibility is she saw the player closing the gate and made a last dash to catch her last opportunity for food in a while, and accidentally was crushed in the gate.

A lot of people keep speculating that her mouth is broken off so that she could eat GENERALLY, but I don't think that's the case. If she and the other teachers could experience hunger at all, it means they would have needed to eat prior to being locked inside the school during the hour of joy. I think the reason her mouth is broken is due to the fact that she needed to rip and tear at the other teachers flesh. Before when she'd eat, I assume her mouth could open, but it didn't need to reveal all of her inside teeth because whatever she was being fed was small enough to fit. She MUST have ripped her own face off after being locked inside in order to properly eat at the other teachers.

Actually, miss delight and the other teachers weren't locked in the school until after the hour of joy you can see the teachers' attacking adults inside the school. and I don't think Ms.delight went insane until she was basically forced to either be cannibalized by the other teachers or cannibalize them, and no she didn't eat the children there's a tape where she talks about a conversation with the prototype where she asks if the children are safe, he answered yes, she then asked if they were with the workers witch he said no then she explained how she knew he didn't trust her with the information because he knew she would probably kill them all, and you even showed part of the tape at 1:47. I also think Ms.delight purposely broke the fake mouth so she could eat the other teachers.

Miss Delight doesn't eat her students. In one of the tapes in her section of the game, Miss Delight asks Catnap about the kids after her and her sisters are locked away. Catnap pretty much admits to hiding the kids from her and will not give away their location, though Miss Delight does say that if she was around the kids at that moment she would eat them.

I think he's the actual computer system. Explains how he can watch us through security cameras, edit video tapes, contact us through messages on a computer to tell us we'll be getting the phone, direct keys to us and interact through the phone. Thing is, a computer & its network that covered a factory 10 years ago would not going to be in perfect shape after all that time. It could explain a lot though.

@@jazzputmon9990 Ten years of degradation have affected a lot of areas in the factory differently. The Game Station was functional and yet we'd be swinging across chasms sometimes too. Since we don't know where the actual Ollie is stored we have no way of knowing if he's damaged and if that's impairing his ability to function. Or if the speakers were disconnected to prevent Ollie communicating with the toys. The Prototype is good with technology. I believe The Prototype may have used Ollie as his spy network throughout the factory, just ensuring Ollie couldn't switch sides by ensuring his silence through removing the speakers. The Prototype could have seen us the minute we walked through those doors and kept watching us progress - that's how he knew where to be when Mummy Long Legs had died. A lot can change in 10 years and I don't think Poppy has all the information she thinks she does here.

Just to be clear, MISS Delight DID take part in the Hour of Joy as seen in the last VHS tape. It was afterwards that CatNap locked the teachers in the school. Also, the children DeFINITELy were not in the school during the Hour of Joy. In the VHS tape at the school, Miss Delight tells of how CatNap explained that the children were safe but she wasn’t allowed to see them because her state of mind. I’m guessing that we will find the children’s’ hiding place in chapter 4 and attempt to rescue them.

There was a prelaunch version of the game which was sent to some gamers where miss delight would only move when the lights flickered and not when they were completely on. That was removed in the launched version because maybe the devs didnt want to repeat the same mechanism as they used for pj pug-a-pillar during the maze chase and so went for a weeping angel type thingy to make it unique.

I think the teachers where all adults which was why the doors where shut, since we have seen in the videos between chapters, that adults get treated differently to other toys with the Bron adult being attacked. Secondly, since she admitted to being willing to kill all the children, could the reason the kitchen was blocked off be because that’s where all the children where? It would make sense for the other teachers to block it off if one of their number was acting strange.

my theory as to how the player/protagonist survived the hour of joy is that in the description of chapter 1 (a tight squeeze) it says "as an ex-employee you decide to go back to the factory in search of your missing coworkers." because of that i think at some point while working there, the protagonist either quit/retired from playtime co and thats why we survive the hour of joy

We may be even someone who has spoken on the tapes! for example this is a far fetch but in chapter 3, there is a employee who is about to retire and wants to pass his role to someone, there is no evidence to claim that could be us but I don't drop anything out of consideration.

​@mr.checkyourself4672 I don't remember which tape was it (and the protag was intoxicated with the red mist anyway so it could have been a hallucination) but one of the tapes sound odd until you play it in reverse, and it's someone, maybe the prototype, saying that "someone" was supposed to be there 10 years ago, but they didn't show up for work. It sounded like scolding almost. The voice in the recording was telling off our character for not being present during The Hour of Joy.

Miss Delight was singled out by the teachers, or her "sisters" to die first. To be killed, then eaten. A couple weeks into the hour of joy, they were locked inside. A note says she suspected this and even caught onto this. Not wanting this fate, her choices were to be killed by the other teachers or kill the other teachers to survive. Eventually, being locked in there for MONTHS (first or couple few i think) she lost her mind. Even after the death of the other teachers she wasn't as insane as she was now- more terrified actually (or slightly remorseful of her actions). She slowly got more and more insane as time went on, willingly killing without remorse or any guilty thoughts.... I NOTHING have to compare to actually, because all I know is that she made a weapon named Barb after the hour of joy when she was locked, but I have this eerily feeling that Ms.Delight was, compared to the rest, was the last of the bunch to loose her mind.

Some one had a theory that miss delight actually stoped moving because she had a cardboard cut out of her and she saw how the students ignored the cardboard cut out of her, so she got the idea that if she stranded still they will think she’s dead(they all tryed to cannibalise each other)

Just rumored but the only reason why we "survived" during the hour of joy was because our character was called in absent for sickday, hence, not being in the place where the event happened. With her mouth, I think it’s one of those things where the gab where her mouth should open is seamless so it’s not noticeable when she’s just smiling, she has to actually open it for you to notice it. Since before in the tapes (or notes?) she and the other teachers where running out of food, this would have been before she went crazy so this makes the most sense. Also I def think one of the other teachers is responsible for her broken face.

We do find a tape containing a conversation between her and Catnap, where she was asking about the kids and of she could see them, and basically Catnap refused to let her see the kids, which probably means Catnap saved the kids from her for fear that she would harm them (the Barb tape one I believe), though you could interpret it as: Catnap opening the door to the school for her after she killed her sisters and any kids that were inside, and refusing the let her kill any more kids after that...though I doubt it

I'm very surprised that Mob Entertainment was willing to provide a few checkpoints for the Mommy Long Legs boss and not a single one for Miss Delight, who's much more challenging than Mommy Long Legs. They even provided checkpoints for the area in the Playhouse where you have to place the large blocks on the vast buttons. Mob Entertainment should at least add one checkpoint during the Miss Delight boss when you enter into the area with the final gate that requires two batteries and the charged green hand to open it. I think she broke her face herself, and the vhs tape with barb as the visual in it has the sounds of her breaking her face, as it kind of sounds like someone is forcing a piece of plastic to bend. Maybe her face is face made from that type of material. Also she probably did it out of depression. By the way Catnap took the orphans somewhere else so they are safe also kind of proved in miss delight's vhs. And he put them to sleep with the gas he has so they might still be living. Miss Delight says "where are the kids?" so she probably haven't seen them since she asked that.
