@@Phadeaway you have to know the full story. Nike (same evil cooperation that stole Kawhi's claw logo) wanted him out!! They didn't want inner-city kids buying his signature $15 shoes. He was labeled a hot head, mentally ill (as they do most misunderstood black men) but we knew better and supported our New Yorker thru and thru. He's a philanthropist , a pioneer. He opened the floodgates for players making 💰 elsewhere illustrating that the NBA isn't end-all/be-all, just like Kobe and KG were pioneers of bypassing the 4yr slavery that is college basketball. He was Westbrook before Westbrook, dealing with NBA small market politics, only wanting big markets to win 🏆 He even had a Kevin too

Ben Gordon was really about that mess back in 08. Gordon was an undersized 2 Guard. Gordon has a serious Jump Shot which Rose lacked at that time. Rose was more of a penentrator. Rose attacked the basket, while Gordon spread the floor, cut through screens, and was a great catch and shoot type of player. Rose penetrated the basket, created his own shot off the dribble, was a good defender, and was an overall monster in his prime in terms filling the stats sheet. Rose put up numbers like 28pts 10Ast 7Reb, 2Stl

I met Ben Gordon once at a legendary pizza shop here in NY , Big Nicks. This is before he came out and said he was bipolar. We don’t bother celebrities here so I just nodded to him and told him that he was great and thank you for great moments. He had this look in his eyes like “oh oh I’m nervous, is this guy an actual person or is he imaginary.” I’m serious. Then when the struggles began and he said what he said, it made perfect sense. Anyhow he was an amazing player once. Hope he’s doing better
