I want to return an item back to amazon as parts were missing. When I opened my parcel, the box was empty. The box of the order came but the cosmetic item was missing inside. If I return the box (that is literally all I can do) do you think Amazon will return my fees? So all I am returning in the cardboard box of the item, not the item itself. This is sadly all I can do as items were missing and maybe even stolen in transit.

I do have one question for the removal order fee, beside the flat fee per unit, will Amazon charge the shipping cost from FBA center to my warehouse that i requested the product to be returned to? The flat cost per unit seems very low and doesn't seem to cover the shipping cost

TW it actually does cover the cost of returning the items to a "national" (same country) location of your choice. It's similar on the destrcution fees. You pay a destroy fee per unit which includes shipping to the destruction place.

Another great video and something I have been wondering about. Just a quick question, where do you look to see what Amazon has done with returns and how much we have been given back? I have had a few returns for various reasons, sometimes for no reason but I don't know what has happened to the return, if it arrived back in time or how much Amazon have given me and if its the right amount compared to what the product cost. Good question Michael, it depends on what they do, but if they take ownership, you will likely see USED offers appear, if they deem you responsible, you should see the unfulfillable quantity to go up, if it is still fulfillable, it's simply added to your available quantity. The main place you can see what you have been given back in any period is in under REPORTS. Regarding removals, would it be a good idea to have a 3PL in Texas (not far from Amazon's FTW1 Fulfillment Center) instead of California (as an example), for costs and disposal/shipping optimization? If YES, do you have any 3PLs to recommend for "small figures" FBA Sellers? (Not a 7 figure one yet lol ;-))

Hey @fgotahiti that's a very good thought as many many international shipments get this one. However there's no way to guarantee this warehouse so it can be hit and miss, that is the one I would choose though as most prominent. So yes a 3PL in Texas is a good idea. Hi Dan, I watched a video of yours on approvals and had a question if I may. I am currently going to be selling a product from the automative category. When adding the product I wasn't told it is restricted or needs approval. It's more of a accessory. I'm in the midst of making a dummy listing and shipping plan to see if anything flags up, but I've heard of people selling for a month and then the listing being closed by Amazon and them being told to seek approval. Some have mentioned to create a invoice to present to Amazon, what would you suggest to do? TIA

100% Boxer, you are very informed on this. All those steps are very good to take as it will allow you to check for sure. An invoice is definitely a good thing to have and you can turn a PI (proforma invoice) into a commercial invoice online in the worst case just use the exact same details. Sometimes the supplier can provide the commercial invoice though. Only use a commercial invoice for this. In the worst case, Automotive is often restricted and you may need to apply for approval (harder if you have not sold anything else) but you may get it. If you don't get approval, you may need to either place it in a different category but related category if possible (to start) OR sell an item in a different category first and then seek automotive approval. Approval is easy in most once you have some sales.

And when seeing the approval form, it asks for a website, I have bought a domain and hosting, but I don't think I have or resources to set up a website right now, is this necessary? If they ask for a website, you just need a very simple site showing your product for sale and IMPORTANT: have your exact seller central email address and address in the footer on the front page. EXACT EXACT, they will check it word for word. Fivver will have cheaper site creators or you can throw one together on WIX or similar

This video was exactly what i needed to see last night, as i needed to change my settings for automatic removal settings changing, obviously this is a new upload video and you are in the uk as am i, but the settings page you shown was totally different to what i saw? i basically went to .... fulfilment by amazon settings, then clicked on automated removal settings, and it just gave me a button to click to chose "enable" once i clicked that i then put in my address and it was set up, Why would your page look so different to mine?, only asking because sometimes when you try to follow videos on KZbin and what you see on your screen is different to what's being shown on KZbin it sometimes gets really confusing

100% know what you mean brian, I was showing it on the US site which had a really odd pathway to that section, hence all the screenshots. There are major differences between the US and UK site but they lead to the same stuff and then there are also often multiple ways to get to the same area lol, glad you got it though!

Hi Dan, thanks for your video again. However, I’m currently stuck in Amazon verification, after I register the Amazon and I added WorldFirst deposit method 15 mins later my account was deactivated and required me to provide utility bill and business license, I did provide my name internet bill and full set my company register profile details. I appeal 1st time and get reject, I assume that due to my country address is same as in Amazon seller central business address but the sequence is different. Amazon is fill in the blank style which can’t match my country internet bill address. For 2nd appeal they require me to write on the additional information and submit the documents, I’m not sure what to write in the additional information box and what additional documents I need to submit. Is it I need to write an Plan on action letter? I’ve no clue and helpless regarding this issue. I did email the seller performance team but get no response. If you came across this problem before, I would be appreciate if you could give me some suggestions on what I should do in order to submit 2nd appeal and get my account reinstated. Last question, I did found someone who said can provide the POA letter and guide what to submit, 100% will get the account reinstated, the person did show me his client testimonies, is it possible or most high chance he is a scam? Hi agnes! I know where you are, I also had a tough verification. It is challenging but doable!! The main thing is that the details match exactly, as you said, the address is slightly different and that is likely causing the problem. My suggestions: - Try and match the address exactly, whether that means changing it on the application or on your documents/getting a document that matches exactly (sometimes even contacting the utility company/bank to actually change it - although seems crazy) - Yes, you could provide insight on the problem in the additional info section but you're more likely to be successful if you make everything match. - That type of service is in need, if they are providing a 100% guarantee and it is not eye wateringly expensive, then that could be a good last resort but try implement the above first. Whenever you upload to Amazon, also send the verification team that same info to boost chances.

@@agnesthong8 yes, if you can get those 2 addresses to match you should be good. On the POA just explain that the address sequences differ and if that won't be accepted that you are working on ensuring they will match. After that, you could consider that service. I know it's frustrating, but you'll get there agnes!

@@agnesthong8 A lot of it is AI driven and that's why this HUGE address problem occurs unfortunately but now your case should be taken over by a human, hence the POA etc. Probably best to do a POA format if that's specifically what they ask for. I hope they email you soon agnes, that usually helps the most when you get a verification team member.

I think usually amazon goes with outcome-4 is most likely, how to deal with returns if the cost of the product is very high: 250-300$..? if customer damage costly item you lose a lot of money.

Maadhav it can create an issue there but it is not that frequent because the customer would: 1 - Have to be quite "unscrupulous" 2 - They would need to damage it in a way that looks like it was sent out to them like that 3 - They would need to damage it and return it within that window However it does happen, in those cases that Amazon accepts their claim, then you would have those 2 options, you would likely remove it and fix it if it were that expensive. Then you could sell it as new or used depending on the condition. Definitely turn on all the refurbishment/repackaging settings in this case.
