I'm 20 and run my own business, this is exactly what I needed to hear, I've read so many books, think grow rich, the ten X rule, Tony Robbins etc but just hearing you say this so honestly has helped me realise I need stop thinking and start feeling. Thank you for this.

Yeah I get asked this a lot as well, and I feel the same - I can't give people "good" advice because I don't know their life and their circumstances. All I say is find something you're interested in and try to make a business from that, rather than trying to just doing something purely to make money. Also I'd say don't underestimate niche markets - so many people seem to go for the general consumer market as they think that's the only way to make big money but I think you are more likely to make a decent amount of money if you make something specialist aimed at a niche market. Sure you might not make millions or billions from it, but you stand more chance of making a few hundred thousand (which is more than enough for most people I would say!) from a niche market than you do of making any money at all from a product aimed at the general consumer market that already has thousands of companies doing the same thing.

Great advice from my 2 favourite channels. To live the life of the diablos and audi R8s you can not settle for an 8-5 office job. Follow your passion without the intention of making money and the money will follow you. No one can show you how to be successful there isn't an 8 step program, Reality is yours, create it.
@Burroughsbikebuilds10 жыл бұрын
***** I am an example of the niche market you described. Couldn't agree more with what you said. I grow Shiitake mushrooms in Colorado, just Shiitake, nothing more. We've been genetically isolating larger capped Shiitake's for about three years now. And the work has paid off. Which is the only reason why we have the contracts with Kroger. Not only are we in a niche market of gourmet mushrooms, but also an even smaller niche considering our cap size. Although I am not wealthy, I am hoping to fulfill Kroger's contract come end of January. It'll like bring in 20-30k/month in profit, which sounds like a lot but considering the upfront costs of diversifying into another farm... I'll be keeping my holey jeans, Ramen noodles, and the old Ford Focus for awhile. I really appreciate your videos Rob. And it does have an inpact on the "Younger generation of you". Thanks for everything, I hope to run into at a rally sometime after the farm is a true success!

I think it's great to see someone with a decent amount of monetary wealth take time to communicate with their viewers like Rob does. I come from a pretty wealthy part of the US and I can say that there are not many people like Rob. You share your life and your cars with us however you never give the impression that you are trying to show people that you are better than them. A good amount of people who are successful will try to sell you a "how to get rich quick" or "how to have an awesome life like mine" book of some sort but you share your knowledge because you actually and authentically want to help people achieve their goals and I think that is an awesome thing to do. You may not think it's such a big deal but your videos such as this one have helped me realize that there is more to life than just making a lot of money and it also motivated me to do things that a wouldn't normally do (good things of course) and take steps towards a better life. Thanks Rob!

This was truly some of the best 15 minutes I've spent procrastinating studying for finals. Thanks so much for making this video, it really spoke to me. Not that I want to "be like you" but I find myself in the same position you may have seen yourself years ago. I'm 20, but an IM&T major at Syracuse. HUGE passion for cars and obviously materialistic things, but I understand it isn't about just getting there and having these things, it comes down to creating your own happiness. You sir, are my therapist. You have the exact same problem as I do. I over think everything and add loads of stress to my life for no reason. Evaluating all the possible outcomes of a situation and weighing the costs/benefits of absolutely EVERYTHING in life seems like a gift to some people... but it's truly a curse. I find that I enjoy life the most when I just say, "Fuck it" and take a leap. Those moments also tend to be the most rewarding and knowledgeable experiences. My deepest thanks for what you do. You're a true inspiration and role model!

thank you very much for this video. im 17 years old and ive had a very rough few months battling some negative thoughts in my head about life. ive been in a depressed-state and was trying to snap back into my usual way of "thinking". this video really put things into perspective. this whole time I felt like I was the only person struggling because I look around and see all these "happy people". but when you said "everyone is struggling" it was just spot on. I cant thank you enough. Ive taken all your advice and I have a small journal where I keep some of my thoughts and I write down almost all your advice. one day this will all pay off and I hope someday I can personally thank you for all the help youve given me.

"Don't think, Feel" This hit me hard! I have big meticulous plans, but I can't foresee and plan for everything, and the uncertainty paralyzes me into mediocrity. I need to take the leap of faith, but I have no emotional power behind it. Reminds me of a theory that if your excited about something, go do it. Awesome video dude! I don't know if you know Elliott Hulse, but he also shares this attitude towards life. He said in a video " The most stable thing a man can do, is listen to his heart, and to follow it". I experienced for myself that doing what your heart wants makes you feel muuuuuch happier. If you don't think, you are more in the moment and you start realising the (little) things in life that make you happy. For example I really love cars and interacting with people who share this love. Two weeks ago I got my driving license and even driving my dads 100hp VW makes me happy. Its not always about what you have but how you feel about something. Keep up the awesome work Rob!:-)

Thank you for this video Rob. It may sound cliche but this does relate to me and it does really feel like the "older me" is talking to me. The problem I have when watching this video is that all of your advice sounds like common sense to me and I know I should follow it, but at the same time I am having a very hard time getting rid of the "overthinking" you mentioned. I find myself almost daily in a situation where i'm trying to schedule and plan my entire life ahead. Doing this in combination with the realist/pessimist I can be sometimes makes me only notice the negative aspects of what such a plan could do to my life. I then forget about the factors that made me want it in the first place and I end up being way less productive towards my goals than I could be when I wouldn't overthing everything so much. I am currently 18 years old, studying computer science in the Netherlands, having a drive for success because of my parents being poor and stupid, and I recognize almost every behaviour you mentioned in this video. I hope you keep doing these vlogs because they did make me realise that succes is a matter of time, and not only a matter of effort and pushing yourself to do hard work. Age also plays a factor and I think with the right mindset you will almost always encounter a point in your life when you find that one thing you've been looking for.

Thank you so much Rob! As a 18-year old myself, I can see a lot in what you are saying. As you mentioned in the video, we think too much and so do I. The path without heat follows and destroys men to follow it is to follow nothing..the real question in life is " DOES THIS PATH HAVE A HEART?" Hey rob, Really liked what you said about the thoughts that one day we will all die and the depression sometimes associated with those thoughts. I've found that while I like cars, tech, and cool engineering, these things never really make me happy. Living in the moment and working hard in the present will be more fulfilling and will help your future become better as well.

Great video by the way this helped me a little and it's a good thing I see this now because I'm a junior in high school still wondering what I want to do. So I have decided to make a list and try out my ideas one by one until I find the right path. You're awesome Dahm!
