Lamar is 4-12 lifetime verse the Steelers and Chiefs combined.. the problem is the more you face Lamar the more predictable he is to contain. that’s why Lamar has a crazy record that’s ungodly vs the NFC and especially the NFC East. Those teams rarely ever see him so they don’t prepare for him as well as teams like Kansas and Pittsburgh. So what the Chiefs and Steelers do?Instead of putting a whole bunch of pressure on him in the pocket and then waiting for it to collapse; that’s when he takes off forward and beats everyone in the trenches and gets into the open field. What the Steelers do is PRESSURE LAMAR BUT DONT LET HIM COME UP OR BREAK THROUGH THE POCKET. So when Lamar doesn’t have a pass and he can’t break the pocket the Steelers then make him run left…. L.E.F.T…. It’s the same concept as a right handed ball dominant NBA player… you’re gonna make him use his left and not let his legs kill you.. so when you do that, you practically force Lamar to throw the ball. And that’s the game plan- then you have people on Pitts lurking like Watt Highsmith, minkah, JPJ, bishop (3 ints this year) etc… Lamar will get his yards through the air and on the ground. But just don’t let him beat you by running the ball. If Lamar beats you with his arm then you can live with that… Lamar is Just a completely different player vs the chiefs and Steelers for those reasons.
