I am Japanese. This place is a town called Harajuku where young people gather. Therefore, in this interview, the work is discussed from the perspective of an ordinary person, not an otaku. If you were interviewing an otaku, you would probably have mentioned many more titles than just the major ones.

Harajuku is a place where young people who wear particularly eccentric fashion gather, so there are many people who wear fashion that they would be too embarrassed to wear anywhere else. Many people gather at the Meguro River in Nakameguro during the cherry blossom season.

@@R06ge To me it was a really refreshing Shoujo title, mostly when it comes to Shoujo Romance they're Character Driven & heavily Drama Oriented (which I love) but *A Sign of Affection* was far from that to the point where it felt like a Wholesome Fantasy, if you haven't watched much Shoujo Romance & you'll directly jump in to something like *A Sign of Affection* then you'll not be able to get the appeal of it & why it's so loved by the fans (mainly the reason being it's not meant to be a well written Romance to begin with) If you want to get into Shoujo Romance tho, i would recommend trying shows like *Kimi ni Todoke* & *Fruits Basket* -

Its not necessary for every story to have deep or flawed characters sometimes you just want to sit back and watch a cute and wholesome story

I was born in 1974 and Ranma 1/2 was the anime I used to try to get people who weren't into anime to give a try. It was genuinely very funny and even a little scandalous for Americans because it had cartoon nudity. I once stayed up all night on a Ranma 1/2 marathon with others in college and having had enough caffeine decided I never actually needed to sleep again. That didn't last too much longer. You probably know Rumiko Takahashi's more recent work Inuyasha

Many people read a lot of manga, but many young people did not watch enough anime to get into it. Those were either because they were not broadcast on TV or were only broadcast late at night. However, anime that is shown daily on TV is called national anime, and it is normal for the whole family to watch a certain anime every week. Sazae-san, Chibimaruko, Gegege no Kitaro, etc., contain many moral elements and are also good for study. It was truly revolutionary to see young people answering one video after another. It was also good to see the spread of various animations in the subs. Many adults read a lot of manga but don't know if it has been made into an anime. It's a good thing that nowadays, if it's popular, it will soon be made into a great anime.

14:06 Inazuma Eleven I only know about because of Japanese fanartists I followed in the past, it's popular amongst fujoshi so I assume it has shonen friendship elements and whatnot. :) Think Prince of Tennis, maybe? The cartoony character design makes it look like a kids anime, but because it has such a dedicated following (if a bit small) I assume that's because the character writing is really good.
