What are Alebrijes?

Originating from a fever dream, alebrijes are brightly colored sculptures made of paper or wood that are usually fantastical and elaborated decorated.
The mestizaje of the indigenous and Spanish has repeatedly shaped Mexican culture and alebrijes are no exception.
And today because of this syncretism, alebrjies have become a unique art form celebrated worldwide.
