I'm old enough to remember when modifieds were simply stock cars with no fenders and big motors. Grew up in Western Pennsylvania. These vehicles surely have evolved. Still one of my favorites classes of cars to watch race. Thanks for explaining and showing all the changes.

And every car was built by hand in the Farm shop or a Service Station bay, except for Len Bohler's cars that I think were born in chicken coops. No production line.

It's hard to appreciate all that engineering & technology, when they are on the track it looks like the spindles are tied together with bungee cords & the left front misses half the race ! Thanks for the look inside & I hope we see more of it.

Very informative. The thing that gets me -- in maybe just 15 years or so, that little guy could be carrying on the family tradition and parking it in victory lane! Somebody needs to remind him of this video in his first victory lane interview.

Thank You Mandee, Billy Jr. and Billy III. I am just a fan of a lot of forms of auto racing. When I go to a race in person, I always go into the pits after the race. I love to see the cars up close to get an idea of how they work and how they are made. So thanks for the insight of what is under the sheet metal. Which is something that I rarely get to see. I also learned something from B P III. That a bare frame car makes for a great Jungle Jim. All joking aside I love to see father and son working together in the shop. While B P III now maybe thinking it's fun to be in shop. I can tell his also learning a lot about what makes a race car tic.

Thanks for this one! I really enjoy these “under the sheet metal” episodes, but I realize that every team has its top secret setups that they don’t want broadcast! I’m very curious about the driveshafts routing under the driver. I’ve been told that it’s right between the drivers feet and exposed, not in a tunnel. That sounds incredibly dangerous, but I’d like to know! Thanks!
@Ottos_ScLm_Race_videos_2009_on4 жыл бұрын
If you go back and look at the video where he talks about full under, rubber floors, You will see a Bert or brinn transmission. That is between the drivers feet. The drive line is off the back of the trans under the seat... If you are talking Sprint Car the torque tube with dive line inside is between the drivers feet.

Just curious...how can it be the 15th chassis built in 2021 when it's November 2020?
@Justaneon994 жыл бұрын
It’s not built IN 2021, it’s the 15th 2021. Same way you can buy a new model year street car in mid years, like buying a 2021 in August. Bicknell stopped production on the 2020s months ago, and switched to 2021 builds- if memory serves, they are 100ish cars deep for the 21 model year already.
