What are Fumos?

Fumos are weird. I mean WEIRD! If you ever seen those dingus gifs on discord of those touhou characters but with those big eyes and cringe movement, then you have come to the right place! I will try my best to explain the history of whatever the heck these strange things are... and why you see them literally everywhere you go in the Touhou community.
And yes, I think I improved at my Hisoutensoku gameplay

Inu Sakuya is significant because the whole Fumo design was based off Inu Sakuya from a written work by ANGELTYPE. Inu Sakyua is the originator of Fumo. The Inu Sakuya plush itself came out after Reimu and Marisa but the design Inu Sakuya came much before. Also it's absolutely impossible to get and will probably never get re-released.

I don't mind getting bootlegs in this case for two reasons: The Original Creator is actually ZUN so in a sense the AngelType Fumos are still not ZUN's work Second, if AngetType won't take advantage of the market, then so be it, someone else can serve the people's needs.

I'm honestly surprised they're not taking advantage of the market, I don't know if there's something behind scenes preventing them from doing so, but no wonder there's so many bootlegs around, and many seem to be really close to the original in quality according to some reviews.

I don't say I am not a plush collector. As a girl myself, I like small and cute stuff. However, I don't play nor obess with them as a child would act. Because I am a 28 years old woman. And before someone comment about my profile picture for mock intention, I have to tell you, Animation is a type of art. And as an artist myself, I like animation. Watching how a lifeless thing turn into life on the screen is magical. Even if I know it is just an illusion caused by the brain. It is still amazing.

Good news for the rest of the world, gift has partnered with touhou lostword to make a fumo of one of tlw's unique characters, and this fumo will be available for international purchase, the character in question is Youmu konpaku(mysterious sword master), also known as darkmu, or edgy youmu, and is planned for release this fall, they are also doing a give away for players for 1 free darkmu fumo.

Fumo's are quite weird, but I love them (I think it's because of the hats). I got into wanting them when I found a Marisa and patchy at a local store (also had Reimu but figured I could come back for it and she was gone the next week). Just got a Tenshi from Amazon (would have also gotten Yuyuko but idk what happened) and they sit behind me so they can both watch me game as well as my back.

I enjoy fumos I have 4 bootlegs from Amazon (Marisa, Koishi, Aya, and Tewi), I love all of em very much they are very funky I do agree with you, I'm perfectly fine with getting bootlegs, since I don't really care if its genuine or not, I just want funny Touhou plushie Although with bootlegs (at least on Amazon), they're usually of more popular fumos, and not usually of newer fumos, either So that's why I sold my soul for an hour and a half trying to get a Renko fumo this past sale and actually got it somehow, which I'm really happy about because she's one of me favorites Still debating if I want to do another sale though (maybe Yukari or Sakuya? something I'd like to add, now fumos are more """easy""" to get since gift decided to make most of the pre orders on amiami, so no more proxys :D but that mean another problem, the freacking page gets either ddos attacked or just falls down because of the absurd quantity of people accesing the webside, plush the bots and all but hey, at least they are doing this method of sending waves of "in stock" every so minutes, and MORE since right now there's a chance to pre order a fumo now with no limited stock, but limited time, and the order will be ready by december, but hey, it's better than anything anyways, the main problem for us is the shipping, and coming from someone who onl has DHL avalible, It's a pain, a real pain

I got Marisa mini fumo for about $5 back in 2013 IIRC, not in Japan, just... randomly appearing on a small local toy con, and I felt like Fumo was already a meme thank to the smug faces, its nothing to be missed once I saw them in person. I still keep the Goodsmile+ and Gift tag on it
