I also am watching this "SOLFEGE" idea on other videos, which sounds like a great concept. But why the acronym "SOLFEGE"? I don't see where that comes from. I see the acronym contains 7 letters which I assume represents the 7 notes of the major scale, but I still don't understand.

Hi, solfege is not an acronym. It is a term for the system of attaching sung syllables to the musical scale. It makes the scale sound more musical and melodic, rather than singing '1, 2, 3, 4 etc'.

@@neilchanmusic Thank you so much for your answer! I know you are busy. So "solfege" is just a name for the concept. I wonder how they came up with such a name. But now I understand better. Actually, I've been singing '1, 2, 3, 4 etc' instead of 'do re mi' as I want to know that a fourth or a third or whatever sounds a certain way. Being basically a beginner at this, singing the numbers may be a bad way to do it. I was able to quickly identify where the third, sixth, or whatever was on the guitar, using the C scale. However, being able to sing a fourth, third or whatever before I play it on the guitar is much, much harder for me to do!
