This is plain lie. The word ‘mountain rat’ was used by Aurangzeb to describe Shivaji. If the textbooks were using it - almost certainly they were quoting Aurangzeb. Shivaji has always been described as a hero in history textbooks. Please ask guests to produce proof. In the days of the internet I don’t think this should be difficult
