Hey nice summary Sasha, I think most people don’t use any of these through not understanding but certainly can be useful.

This is the terminology that Trading 212 uses, and I find it confusing.... eToro uses much clearer terminology - Order at, Stop loss, and Take Profit, so much simpler.
@SashaYanshin

Yeah - Stop Loss is a particularly popular term that is probably used more than the technical version but these are not just Trading 212 Terms - these are the "proper" ways these things are called in the industry :)

Had to watch a couple of times to get the ideas fixed in my head. I do agree Trailing Stop Orders would mean I could "bake" in my gains on a regular basis and reduce my exposure. I hope you will highlight any of the trading platforms that introduce this feature first.

Hi Sasha. Very useful as always, love you videos. Just a shame that Trading 212 has stopped the stop and limit orders for low value, also never supported these on fractional shares. I think they are implementing the latter, however the value restriction still applies, at least for now. Hopefully this will get changed as it was very useful. Thanks for your content 👍😎

Would be nice to have an app that literally just works - all the order types for full and fractional shares on all stocks available through the app would be a pretty neat start!

Dam…. I’m I so dumb or what? I still haven’t find a short simple video to open my mind to this part. I was getting it in the beginning then he mixed it all up and crushed my brain. Please can someone explain the difference between BUY ( Limit & Stop ) and the SELL ( Limit & Stop )? I’m new to crypto. Thanks so much.

Hey Sasha why is it that trading212 don't allow trailing stops, I presume they must make more money if we lose on our trades?

So with limit orders is that a one time thing or is it on repeat? So what i mean is if I'm at $100 and I want it to buy at $50 and then sell at $200 will it cycle this so once it reaches $200 to sell if it goes back down to $50 will it buy again and then obviously sell at $200 if it reaches that again and then just keep doing this because I'm thinking of investing in to penny stocks nothing crazy just a few hundred and set the expiry date for the end of the month (If possible) and I know with penny stocks they are constantly up and down so yh was gonna see if I could take advantage of that as im working obviously monday to Friday i can't be constantly checking it but with this is will do it for me I just need to know if it repeats or if I have to set it up everytime it reaches the sell price. If that makes sense I'm new to this😂

Beware people, trailing stop order rules vary hugely from one brokerage platform to another (at least it's the case in Canada).
@SashaYanshin
@SashaYanshin 3 жыл бұрын
Vary on the definition or execution? There is some variance with the platforms I have used where some might do a % based trail while others do a fixed one, but these are usually pretty obvious when you're using them - maybe this is different in other countries!

@@SashaYanshin BMO's pltfrm recalculates the selling price (according to a % I defined, max 20%) each time a new high is reached. If the stock price is between 5 and 25, it takes a variation greater than 49 cents for activation, if the price is between 25 and 50, it takes a variation greater than 1$, etc. This is not in real time but once a day, price at closing time. At Disnat, you place an increment of the price at the time you place the order and, nearly in real time, the increment moves upwards at any new high reached since you placed the order.
@SashaYanshin

@@sergest-amand1164 Thanks for letting me know - definitely an odd way of implementing it if it's only done on closing prices and with the caveats!
@sergest-amand1164
@sergest-amand1164 3 жыл бұрын
@@SashaYanshin I just checked, yes it's still the closing higher price that is criteria. And oh i forgot, there's also this: if price is lower than 5$ per share, you CAN'T place a trailing stop.
