Your sentence is ungrammatical in English. But it's kinda interesting, because it shows that in your native language (Arabic? Farsi?) it is possible to merge a possessive pronoun and demonstrative pronoun in the same sentence. May I ask how did this sentence originally look like in your native language? I'm really curious.

This video was awesome! I have a question though, can 'in' be a verb?
@Socratica8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jessie! We're glad you enjoyed our video! "In" is most commonly used as a preposition, as in "The cat is in the box." You might see it used as an adverb: "The keys were locked in the car." or an adjective: "The doctor is in." Not as a verb, though. Have a look at our prepositions video and see what you think! What are Prepositions: bit.ly/2dZ5oj6
@lolavolbeat4448 жыл бұрын
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but "IN the car" is another preposition, not an adverb. And "The doctor is IN" is an adverb "in". It tells where the doctor is without an object to go with it.
@lolavolbeat4448 жыл бұрын
But you're right about using "in" as a verb. It's never done unless you're speaking "Caveman".
@bonbonpony6 жыл бұрын
+Lola Volbeat: you're right about the occurrences of "in". As for its usage as a verb: although it cannot be used that way in English, it's kinda interesting to think how would it be if it _could_ be used that way, kinda like the same meaning as the word "enter" or "get in": "He ins the shop" = "He enters the shop" ;) I bet there are languages somewhere in which the word used as a preposition can also be used as a verb.

Can u answer this.. identifying if it is copulative or auxiliary verb.. 1. These are contests. 2. It would seem that the delegation was prepared. 3. This is not an overnight task. 4. This is lifetime. 5. This means as early as five years old. 6. It is by coincidence. 7. All other athletes seem to have been discovered. 8. The author is using a persuasive technique in his exposition of his editorial. 9. Although persuasive in its purpose, the editorial content does create a "smile" in the reader. 10. A serious program for national athletes is the only assurance of gold in higher competition..

Where can I find the real basics that explain the concepts in grammar used to explain stuff? Like 'subject', 'phrase', 'sentence', 'predicate'..? It seems everywhere it's assumed we learned these.. As a native English speaker I never did. Pronunciation, yes, vocabulary, yes, but I feel like I am learning f=ma while not knowing what an equal sign means let alone what algebra is.

Hello, I am ghani from Indonesia. I want to ask only one question. Which one is the correct sentence grammatically between It is me and It is I?
@natalieung85149 жыл бұрын
in cases such as that you should be using a noun, which is your name instead of pronouns, I or me.
@mohammadghani13799 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Ung thanks for suggestions, Miss Natalie Ung. Sometimes, I ever this sentence of "it is me" on television. But when I am studying about Linking Verb and Subjective Complement, I feel confused, any questions in my mind. Because of that, I will try to analyze it which one the correct sentence is. Once again, thanks so much for answering my question.
@natalieung85149 жыл бұрын
technically 'it is i' is grammatically correct because it is a subjective verb but no one says that, we have switched to using 'me'. so please do not get confused when someone says 'it is me' because really everyone says that. there are many rules in english that sometimes are not followed correctly, so do not feel discouraged when coming across exceptions.
@mohammadghani13799 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Ung it is really a great answer. Thanks so much Miss Natalie Ung for giving me motivation to always try doing something.
@bonbonpony6 жыл бұрын
There _is_ a difference between "I" and "me", but many English-speaking people don't understand it well, because the difference lies in their GRAMMATICAL CASE - a concept that has been rid off English language long ago, except some relic words that still have them. So here's how it works: The grammatical case of "I" is the _nominative_ , or the one you would usually find in a dictionary. The grammatical case of "me" is the _accusative_ , or the one you talk _about_ . You use the former ("I") when it's at the position of the SUBJECT of the sentence (the person who performs the action, "doing the VERBing" ;) ), whereas you use the latter ("me") when it stands at the position of the DIRECT OBJECT (the person that something is done TO, the receiver of the action). Long story short: "I see you, and you see me" ;) Notice how after "see" we use "me" (accusative case) instead of "I" (nominative case). And we use "I" (nominative) before "see", but we never use "me" there. "Me see you" is ungrammatical, because the cases don't match their positions. Unless you say "Let me see": here it is "Let" which is the main verb that describes what happens, and the person we are letting it is "me" (accusative, because it is the receiver of that action of letting). "See" is just an infinitive that says what we are letting him to do. You can say "You and I" in a sentence like: "You and I are going to the mall", because in this sentence, "You and I" are the subject (both people together, hence the plural form "are"). But you say "She saw you and me yesterday", because here "you and me" are receivers of the action (being seen). Here's a little table of all those forms of personal pronouns: NOMINATIVE ACCUSATIVE GENITIVE I me my you you your he him his she her her it it its we us our you (guys) you (guys) your they them their
