What are Mast Cell Disorders and Mastocytosis?

I’m going to add ‘anxiety’ to that list of symptoms - it’s one of the first things that hits me before I have a serious anaphylactic episode and I’ve now recognized it for a real symptom.

Please do not rule out mastocytosis even if the tryptase level is within normal levels. Please allow for patients the benefit of DNA testing to find other reasons for the allergy-like symptoms.

If there is a clear connection between IPF (interstitial lung disease) and mast cell activation and if immune cells can promote fibrosis and mast cells are known to be present in PF, I am curious to know how come no one has yet found the solution to correcting this awful health issue.

The title of this video says "Mast Cell Disorders and Mastocytosis", but the doctor only mentioned mastocystosis. This is misleading and very frustrating. I have met too many allergist/immunologists who don't even know of any other mast cell disorders besides mastocystosis.

@@darkprizm248 I live in Michigan, but unfortunately not. I have an allergist who is willing to do her best to treat me, but she is by no means an MCAS expert. (And she calls my condition "mastocytosis" allll the time 🤦‍♀️)

@@LifeinBonnieland (LOVE your screen name!) I also live in Michgan, and my 35 year-old son has mold toxicity and two kinds of Bartonella. He has all the symptoms of mast cells activation. Can you tell me where in Michigan you found a doctor? Thank God, in Rochester, MI, there is an MD, who is also a specialist who has studied functional medicine and stealth infections for 14 years. She diagnosed my son, but sent him to ER to rule out brain abnormalities and other things. I’m wondering if she can assess him for this. At least your doctor is willing to become knowledgeable about this. When my son had just mold toxicity, which lowered his immune system and the Bartonella was able to manifest. He’s had horrible brain pressure, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, he’s been throwing up lately, his skin burns, he first had constipation and now diarrhea, etc. I feel so bad for him and others like him. Imagine those who have family or are alone and are never diagnosed?

Important to note that labs for this to r/o Mastocytosis or MCAD they get tested within hours of symptoms and some labs need to be refrigerated immediately or the results will be compromised.
