@KETIV, is there any way to list the part numbers and their revision numbers of different part variants (model states) in an assembly drawing? By default, you can generate a table with the member names of model states but I would like to list the related prt and rev numbers.

Very informative video, Will the model states have the same issue where they cant exceed 256 columns because of how inventor links to excel or has this been solved with newer versions of Inventor? I remember this being a issue with iAssemblies in the past

In Inventor 2023 (not sure about 2022), there is option to "Hide Suppressed Components in BOM" so not need to use View Reps for workaround for 'suppressed parts show as zero'. RMB click on your part table-> Bill of Materials...-> BOM settings in top panel-> Hide Suppressed Components in BOM

Wow!!!! It's about time Inventor is catching up to everyone. I am a previous NX and SW user. When I started using Inventor in April of 2021, (thanks COVID), I was like WTf!!?? THIS SUCKS!!! No configurations or ability to supress or unsupress features in part or assembly states to represent machine or Fab processes? Most times you need to bring parts in several times. LAME ....... LOL It's like Inventor goes out of their way to make it more complicated. and don't call Tech Support. those guys just talk over you and usually very rude. their Autodesk Directly support is soo much better. sorry went on a rant. don't get me wrong there a few things Inventor does that are cool. But not enought to make me choose it over other software.

Model state is just a simplified version of LOD combined with view rep, for those who know it. That the efficient way to have one assembly with a doze LOD's while you have the full control of your assembly.

Moedl States so much better than stupid LOD's. Inventor goes out of their way to complicate everything. I only been using Inventor for about a year and it blew my mind how they use LOD's.

Still not as strong as iPart/iAssembly Factories. i.e. iAssembly Factory>Representations>Position>Override doesn't have an option for Model State if you want to keep the iAssembly a Factory. Tabulated drawings for iAssemblies were not supported last I looked a few months ago. And it broke Phantom iAssemblies when the update came out. (Last update didn't fix it.) Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for Model States, I'm using massive assemblies with dozens of these Factory files and the top level assemblies are incredibly slow. Model States will improve this a lot. I'm just hoping that they continue to support Factory workflow users in the conversions to Model States b/c it sounds like Model States is the future... but as it stands, it's not a full replacement yet.

Why can't Inventor offer folders for features and alternative work flow scenarios for different versions of the part, like Solidworks? Why reinvent the wheel?

Inventor is trying to catch up to SW. BUT I do like this Model States is so much better than SW so far. For me SW was very buggy. Even NX does sthis better.

Beware, model states have replaced Level of Design, so Design Assistant no longer works to copy. Copying without DA is slow and tedious. Major flaw in 2022.

Yes, thank you! this is currently an issue in 2022. This was reported to Autodesk for possibly cause and solution. knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Unable-to-edit-or-copy-in-Design-Assistant-the-Inventor-components-and-assemblies-which-include-model-states.html. ok. I knew AutoCAD would do something stupid. The 0 BOM issue is just dumb. AutoCAD can't just get out of their own way.
