CORRECTION: Typographical error: The SD of 2.5 is actually Variance. The correct SD without considering it as a sample is square-root of 2.5 = 1.58. However, this DOES NOT CHANGE the essence of the context and the content.

@LearningPuree Жыл бұрын
The "moments" as a concept is derived from Physics and not from Economics.
@BaoNguyen-ti5og Жыл бұрын
I don't understand the part where you made "the second moment independent of the first moment". It is independent in what sense can you elaborate?
@LearningPuree Жыл бұрын
Please see the formula for the second moment. We deduct the Mean which is the first moment. So, in a way we are removing the effect of mean in the calculation of the second moment.

Can you plz do more videos about this concept of moments Like factorial, absolute moments and moments of bivariate random variables
@LearningPuree2 жыл бұрын
Sure. However, the concept of 'moment' will NOT change. What needs to be understood is that a moment is around/about a certain defined point e.g. a mean. So, the video may effectively end up as a repetition of the concept. Thank you for suggesting the topic.
@nadasalah89732 жыл бұрын
@@LearningPuree thx for ur response. I got ur point ,sir i want to understand the idea behind why we using the factorial or the absolute and when we do that it's like understanding the intuitive part behind these concepts. I hope u understand what I'm takin about, cuz my English isn't that good.

@@LearningPuree That's really great... If possible, please make videos on applied statistics from very beginning.... Videos in bits and pieces don't help much ..
@LearningPuree2 жыл бұрын
@Gangaprasad Tewary This format is meant to clarify topic specific concepts. Statistics & its application is a subject by itself and needs to be studied as a part of a time and resource intensive comprehensive course that has a commercial component. To say the least, even the bits and pieces component takes a considerable investment of time and resources to produce the content.
@12345693122 жыл бұрын
@@LearningPuree I totally agree with you.... down the line you can think to commercialize it.... Your contents and way of presentation are really meaningful!! All the best!!

Second moment =2.5 for 3,4,6,7. how ??
@LearningPuree2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing it out. It is a typographical error. I had written the variance value by mistake. The necessary correction has been made in the comments. However, with the correction the essence of the content and context DOES NOT change!!

Second moment is 110 and 100 for the data sets.. given..i really don't understand..how . Moments is when you actually divide that by 4 .. but ut just the added squares..
@LearningPuree10 ай бұрын
It is the squared distance when considered from origin as '0' (zero). Since the denominator is the same, it does not matter for the comparison. This was done only to simply and exemplify the point on shift of origin. The figures are correct. In fact when you move ahead in the tutorial you will notice the 2nd moment was also calculated using shift of origin to get 2.5 and 0 (zero) respectively for both cases. Hope this clarifies!
