What Are My Everyday Carry Items For the Analogue Pocket Pack? Waterfield Bag EDC | UG+ Vol 3

First and foremost, I was a little under the weather so my voice sounds a little different. We still rocking though.
I have yet to see any videos about the Analogue Pocket Pack from Waterfield (www.sfbags.com/products/analo..., so I decided to take things into my own hands and review it myself.
However, this video is not sponsored in the slightest (though brand support would be much appreciated right now 😂). All of these thoughts are my own, and nobody paid me to feature any of the products you will see in this video.
Don't believe me? Let me tell you about my feelings on the Pocket Pack. Do I love the bag? Absolutely. I use it maybe four days out of the week. Do I think it's worth the $150 plus that I paid for it? Honestly, it should've been way cheaper. But it is good product, so I'm not tripping.

My favorite for the Pocket is the City Slicker. The leather, the belt hooks, mag closure and stretch mesh back really work for me. I use it for all sorts of small stuff and is my fav of my 3 main EDC bags.

The Pocket is so dope, and these bags look great! I have similar feelings to you; I get overwhelmed with the amount of games in my collection, so it’s nice to just have a few game carts on hand that you can cycle through. Looking forward to that Pocket OS 2.0 update later this year!

That’s exactly why I love collecting and traveling with physical carts. It forces me to pick the games I travel with, and actually seeing the cartridges helps me decide on what to focus on, whereas I often get lost in my digital library. OS 2.0 is gonna be 🔥🔥🔥

Also fire that you are trying out Strategy RPG/Tactics games. You might wanna look into Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, Super Robot Taisen 1+2, the other FEs (6 got it’s English translation that you can load to the AP), FFTactics Advanced, and Riviera: The Promised Land are a few more.

If you have the chance, check out my list of top 25 gba games to play for the AP. Tactics Ogre almost made the list, but it ultimately went to FF Tactics Advance. Super robot taisen is calm, but I haven’t checked out Riviera yet

You have a nice voice & a pro looking, useful video. But for the backups using "GBA backup tool" with an R4 and DS Lite (or OG DS) *might* do it. I'm not sure if it'll work for a multicart though. I just did it for regular carts and it's nice.

If you check on etsy, I’m sure that you may be able to find something. Search “Analogue Pocket Case EX” and you should be able to come up with something! I feel you for wanting to protect it, but idk something about the AP just makes me wanna rock it as is

Totally forgot to mention this, but I took this bag when I traveled for vacation and it doubles as an excellent bag for walk around storage. Price is hefty, but if you can afford it, I say go for it. Thanks for watching!

I spent my money on a premium device, it deserves a premium case (though I don’t recommend this type of activity for everyone, I’m just really irresponsible with my money 😂). But for me, this was the best case I could buy, hands down.

What is your favorite color pocket? For me its the white one, reminds me of a original gameboy? I have the Waterfield Citysleeker Bag, with the brown leather lid, its so awesome. The White AP is definitely up there on my list. It’s the only one that doesn’t have the black borders on the screen, and it just looks really nice. Outside of that, I would say it’s a toss up between Pink and Transparent Purple. There’s just too many to choose from lol. And I am toying with the idea of doing more lists. I’m making my way through the respective catalogs and making my picks. Not sure when I will make the vids, but it’s def something I’m looking into!

Thanks for the suggestion, I actually have one, and tried for hours on end. The problem is that blue multi cartridge doesn’t work on the operator; it gets recognized as the a rewriteable cartridge that is the Japanese“pokemon ruby.” However, when you try to select a game, it just loops. I appreciate your creativity tho, thanks a lot

Appreciate the effort you put into your videos man. I have the same feeling about my camera bags. They are made by a company called DOMKE, similar to Waterfield, and don't scream "camera inside." They are built incredibly well and some have lasted me 10+ years. It goes against that bargain-hunting logic of chasing the lowest price, and rather choosing the option that while more expensive, will last you a long time.

Great vid. I've been slumming it with a 3ds hard case. I'd go for the Waterfield, but by the time I factor in import duty and postage to the UK I'd get stung. It does look like a good option, though.

Yea even though I love this bag and use it pretty much everyday, I dislike how expensive it is. That’s the one thing that’s really holding me back from confidently recommending it for everyone, but tbh if the AP is the only think you’re gonna carry around in here, there’s so many better options. Brilliant review, well explained! Absolutely rate WaterField Designs (SFBag's) for years, since getting their Cityslicker cases for my Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL & New 3DS XL, and the Switch! Currently use the WaterField Analogue Pocket Pouch Forza pouch (blue ballistic nylon) for my black Analogue Pocket, and it's been super useful and protective 🎮🖤

@@undergroundgeniuspodcast the AP Pouch is a great portable case, and at the time was one of two made for the Analogue Pocket (and only later did WaterField make a full canvas version). However, I'm thinking of upgrading to the much later released case, the WaterField Cityslicker for Analogue Pocket, to match my other Cityslicker collection of cases for Nintendo devices! It's a bit more professional looking too, but might not carry as much accessories as the Pouch does...

Tbh, there are days where the only AP related thing I touch in my bag is the Pocket itself. Like I said, I don’t use the charger often, so I think the cityslicker def has its utility for sure

@@undergroundgeniuspodcast oh I should have been clearer, and I made a mistake in my earlier post; will correct now! The WaterField AP Pouch has a zipper pocket for a cable or game cart storage, the latter of which I find very useful. It's in one profile too, so has the best slimness with durability out of any WaterField Analogue Pocket case. However, the WaterField Cityslicker AP is extremely refined, professional, arguably more durable for the AP. It has two pockets too: - One outer (but secured) pocket for one GB/GBC or two GBA carts - Like other Cityslicker cases, it does have a zipper mesh pocket on the back of the case. This latter pocket is not as durable to the WaterField Pouch, and now with two of these case pockets the Cityslicker might be a tad thicker (depending on how you use each). That said, the profile of each case is quite similar, so depending on your usage, you may have a preference to one of them over the other. Though I do like the magnetic closure of the WaterField AP Pouch, it's not the easiest to take the AP out (though I've adjusted). The snug fit is reassuring though. The Cityslicker AP uses a leather flap to secure the AP, and so removing the console is perhaps easier by design and execution. My apologies for the unclear and mistaken previous post! Even so, I really want the Cityslicker edition, so after Christmas that might be my next purchase (November and Christmas has been brutal on my wallet 😅💸)!

Ain’t that the Dusse pin? Where is my $4.44?😂 Nah you good just promise to make some videos on independent GameBoy games. Like from incube8/SpaceBot, BitMapSoft, RetroRoom, LimitedRun,, etc. Some older standouts are: Opossum Country, Batty Zabella, Pine Creek, and Deadeus (probably the most popular GB homebrew game). Funny how well horror fits on portable. Too bad official devs never took full advantage of the genre on the hardware. Dragonyhm, Repugnant Bounty, Infinity, and Bottle Boy are some of the most promising games about to release soon or in 2024 as well. I think the future success of the AP will be on community supported games as Nintendo has abandoned the hardware when its potential is still massive.

My guy 😂😂😂 Honestly, I was hoping for way more indie gb/gbc/gba support since the AP was released, and I think that we still can get some new games. Goodboy Galaxy is a switch game but it also has a GBA port and I’m excited for that. I will def look into the other titles you mentioned, but a video of that nature is def on my list.
