I only invest in compliant asset tokenization companies. The writing is on the wall.. with regulation pending via the Ripple decision, I believe the foundation for mass adoption of STOs is being laid as we speak.

so who owns and maintains the security token database and re-issues in case of loss ? Obviously it is centralized ...Is it the issuer of the token ?

Security tokens are actual securities, so the cap table is managed by a registered transfer agent. Trading happens through a registered broker-dealer. Same as with shares of stock that you may own through Schwab, e-trade, etc.
