In this video, we explain what is the reason shockwaves occur, the effects that accompany it and how the understanding of its behavior has aided in the development of supersonic aircraft from the SR-71, Concorde and many more. We look at why the development of swept wings has aided in reaching faster speeds how the development of swept wings has aided in developing faster aircraft.
If you do have any questions or suggestions do leave a comment in the comment section below. We are looking forward to reading them. Science is all about effective communication and exchange of ideas.
Hope you enjoyed the video!!
Although the channel name is 2brokescientists, we cannot function without the help of our team. Ankith John ( / ankithjohn ) has brought this video to life with his videography suggestions and painstaking editing. Thanks Ankith!!

I hope this question reaches you. Please explain why glass shuttered in the recent blast in Beirut. I understand it is a result of shock wave, but how did it travel so far from such a small area? Was it like a strong wind that swept through the city and did it make the surroundings hotter? My mind can't comprehend the chaos caused by shock waves.
@EphemeralProductions
@EphemeralProductions 3 жыл бұрын
The bigger the explosion the more of those particles they mentioned are moving outward at the speed of sound. The big explosion at Beirut gave more than enough force and momentum to send the particles quite far and fast. So that force is what made am the Windows bust

Maybe the density of the air before the object is just right enough to change the velocity of waves.

So, a shock wave is created whenever mach 1 speed is reached, right? If that is correct then in a cd nozzle there should always be a shock wave at the throat, but that is not the case. So can you explain why I'm wrong and maybe explain it in detail or share some resources please. Thank you.
