I guess I see being prepared a little different. I don't do it for what I have encountered in the past, but rather what I may experience in the future. I built my first aid kit not on the things I have encountered, but rather on my skills, having done volunteer firefighting and being a nurse. The other criterion is the most likely need in a variety of possible situations. 🤷♂️ Oh and saving a couple lives is great, but bragging kinda detracts from it. Brett's story about the books and bending them backwards... *shivers* I love paperback books and pride myself in keeping them in pristine condition. Then one time I let me little sister borrow one of my books and the spine was a MESS when she handed it back to me after finishing it and I was like "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" And she showed me how she bent it backwards and I literally freaked out and shrieked and yanked the book from her, probably called her a monster and definitely never let her read any of my paperbacks ever again.

@@phoebusapollo8365 Lol Agreed. And seriously, when my sister did that to my book right in front of me, I legitimately DID yank it out of her hands. I'm the same way, I love keeping my books in the best condition possible, I used to have a "friend" who would always ask to borrow my stuff (books, video games etc..) & he would just treat my stuff without respect, he left one of my books out in his backyard & it rained on it, he lost at least one of my video games, he returned a game guide I lent him in poorer condition than when I gave it to him, this was over 20 years ago & I still feel salty about it

I got a few weird ones, 1 - I love the smell of rubbing alcohol, whenever I use it to clean something I will get an extra cotton pad with it on there and smell it for a good 10+ minutes. 2 - as a 30 year old man I still do a full walk through of the house before bed to make sure nothing or no one is in my home. 3 - I love to sit in silence so much that sometimes I watch TV with it muted and nothing else going. This one is probably because I’m a hunter and I’m used to long periods of no noise but nature, still weird though.

I like to count things a lot-stairs, ceiling tiles, light fixtures in stores, cracks in the sidewalk... In addition, sometimes I will take two random 3 digit numbers that I see on a license plate or shopping cart and multiply them in my head, then double check my answer on a calculator. So far, 100% correct. It's weird because I envision doing it long hand. Like the way they taught in school. I can actually see the paper and pencil in my head, not just the numbers. So while in reality I'm doing it mentally, I'm also properly working it out on paper that doesn't exist with a pencil that also doesn't exist.

I do the same with my cheeks and inner lip Brett! My husband keeps telling me to stop chewing my face. I've broken other habits over the years but this one is tough to break

I relate totally to the biting the inside of your cheek and also my tongue lol all the way back In the 4th grade i used to get yelled at by teachers thinking I was chewing gum but I'd explain what I was doing they either gave me judgmental looks and said yea that's uhm weird or accused me of swallowing the gum in order to not get in trouble which didn't make a lot of sense to me because regardless I was still in trouble 😂

What produce has a date on it? As someone who eats a lot of fruit, I’ve never seen this. I always select based on the evidence at hand, trying to avoid produce that won’t ripen and produce that will rot before it is good to eat. Pears for example should always have a bit of weight to them - a noticeably light pear was picked too early and will never ripen. You also can learn to tell the difference between blemishes, bruises, and decay. Bartletts are especially susceptible to core breakdown so you have to be okay with sometimes losing your produce - buy extra, eat more most of the time. Since I’m a pear enthusiast I will also point out that Autumn Bartlett is *not* Bartlett. They are totally different - Autumn Bartlett, aka Packham’s Triumph, doesn’t turn yellow as it ripens, is more squat than Bartlett, and is usually a large size. It also doesn’t have the citrus flavor Bartlett has. It’s more like an Abate Fetel in terms of flavor, but juicier and not as sweet.

Here's one I didn't think of until now. Instead of picking out my clothes when I get up in the morning or laying something out before I go to bed, I take the clothes I took of when I went to bed the night before and wear them. Then, when I take a shower, I'll change clothes and wear that for the rest of the day. Basically, unless I have something specific I have to wear for work or something, I change clothes when I take a shower instead of when I get up. I only wear the new clothes for a few hours after I shower, so they are still clean enough to use in the morning. There's less to do in the morning that way, and you also end up doing less laundry.

In the kitchen, my mother was literally a noodge: for instance, if we were washing dishes side by side, and talking, if she needed to get to something in front of me, rather than interrupting the conversational flow to say “excuse me, I need to get in there,” she would just gently apply sideways pressure to move me over. She was absolutely unaware she was doing it, until the day I snapped “Stop that!”

10:17 Lydia scares me! I love reading and have a decent library going now. One of my biggest pet peeves is getting a used book and the pages are bent, curled, the spine is broken, pages are written on or if there is a sticker on the cover. I mean I get absolutely furious! So people like Lydia, please don't touch my books.

Sometimes I pair songs together in my head, usually because I first heard them or added them to my playlist at the same time or something, and if I hear one of them, I absolutely must listen to the other. Sometimes there grouped in threes, and if I hear one, I need to play the other two.

I know this video was over 9 months ago, but I just had to say this one. Whenever I'm in the shower I always find myself having my hands resting on the back part of my hips palms open, facing out, and elbows out like the Jim Carrey Grinch when he's overlooking whosville, or like a tall awkward featherless duck. I never consciously put myself in that position, but everytime when I eventually come to an awareness that I'm in that position it's too late and I can't not stand like that without feeling uncomfortable or weird. I never stand like that in any other circumstance ever, only the shower and I cannot tell you how, why or when that started happening, but it happens consistently without fail.

My weird habit is assigning genders to numbers/letters. Oddly enough 7 has a crush on 9 but 8 is between them and they can’t be together. 3 and 6 are siblings. 2 and 4 are best friends. Both male 3 and 9 and good friends. 3 is younger and 9 is older. This is weird 🤣

YES. When I was little I thought that the number 5 should be “male”, because the horizontal line at the top of the number reminded me visually of the top of a crew-cut (a traditionally “male” haircut). For some reason I thought that the number 2 seemed like it should be a girl. I thought I was the only person who did this 😂

I peel my nails, and bite them and used to eat them, bite the skin on my lip, bite sores in my mouth (more for the pain, oral pain feels good to me ,weird I know) count ceiling tiles, I do the pattern thing to, if it's not on the floor then I use my fingers as like legs and hop scotch the pattern, I talk to myself often, even argue with my self, shame myself (don't think it's healthy). Sniffing my forefinger and middle finger (something to do with smoking 🚬 I think as it's only the hand I smoke with). Wow, this is a eye opener.

Ok so far Brett, yep.. this would be me as well. I totally get it. Cocoon in bed in a warm towel after a shower ✔ Never finishing a drink of any kind ever ✔ Ketchup on scrambled eggs ✔ But the getting excited about doing something with friends and then second guessing it all 🤔...eh, not really. My introverted personality immediately cringes at the thought, so yeah, there's that.

I started singing out loud in my crib before I was 1 year old. I continued until about age 8, I would sing very loudly at night (and we lived in an apartment building) while clamping my outstretched arms and swinging them from one side to another, rolling myself on my back until I would fall asleep. Then I became self conscious and wondered "why the hell am I making noise when everyone is trying to sleep?" and stopped doing that. Oh yeah, in the morning I would have some intense hair knots action on my head and brushing it out was always an ordeal. Got used to getting my hair ripped out with a brush.
