I mean and I REALLY want it to believe that Dr.Halsey already know about the whole Covenant situation beforehand, because creating SUPER soldier to fight against "NORMAL humans", is kinda an overkill and frankly kinda stupid, like REALLY STUPID to waste human life and resource to fight against a group of comunist XDDD. Can you tell me why the insurgent were such a treat???? I mean the whole point of Spartan 2 project circle arround to end the insurgency, but to me is kinda pointless, because there is no guarantee that a Spartan after killing his own kind dont start to realize how fuck up the situation really is.....I know they are not super intelligent, but they are not retarded either and also they dont have a chip like the clone trooper have so they are FORCE to obey. Sorry for so much text, im kinda new to halo series and i still have A LOT of questions.

The project began in 2511 and the first recorded instance of the Covenant in any fashion wasn't until the 2520's. Humanity wasn't really aware of a significant alien society until the Covenant started glassing colonies. I plan on actually making another lore dive about our "first contact" with the Covenant, so stay tuned for that. The idea of the Spartans to deal with the insurgency sounds a little overboard, but you have to understand the context first. Humanity isn't stuck on a single planet to fight over now. At this point of the Civil War, Humanity has dozens of colonial worlds spread across the galaxy. So even being generous, there's trillions of lives being affected from this. Also the insurrectionists were significant enough of a threat that the UNSC would lose entire planets to them throughout the conflict. The theory amongst the UNSC according to the "carver findings" (interesting google) was that if this conflict were to continue or even escalate any further that it could cause the extinction of our own species. A self imposed extinction. P.S. The Insurrectionists aren't communist, they simply want to form their own government and secede from the UEG but they won't let them. I actually have a lore dive on the Insurrectionists if you're interested at all.

Ok, I kinda get it, but if the whole idea of the insurrection was to independice from the government, why not try a political approach?? And if they were such a treat in number it's mean the government was doing a terrible job then and they deserve to be overthrone ?? I mean if they create super soldiers just to win a political argument they were pretty screw up on the head XD. Also every spartan was aboard with this plan??? They never question the fact they are going to kill their own kind????

@TN_Nadaclos The outer colonies did try the Civil approach at first. Just to give you MORE context. The insurrectionists didn't begin making violent moves till 2494. A whole 17 years before the Spartan II program began. As I also said in my video. "These are the good guys (the UNSC) by the way."

@@TN_Nadaclosthe more you get into Halo lore, the more apparent it becomes that if it weren't for the covenant and the other alien factions, the UNSC backed by the UEG (United Earth Government) and ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) would probably be the actual villains of the series. And on the note of Spartans not being intelligent. Well they are, they're REALLY intelligent, in the calculated and strategic sense though, not really the political sense. There HAVE, however been instances, especially in recent history, where Spartans join the insurrectionists.
