I live in SC we been getting lots of rain here this month. I often wonder if rain clouds just move along where ever. I live SC but I grew up in ky. My family from KY. Sometimes it would rain in ky and the next day we in SC would get rain.

Thank you -- and thanks for commenting! "Noodling" is a really old word that seems to have changed meaning a few times. It basically just means the same as "specking" and "fossicking" these days, but once upon a time it had a more specific meaning. I've found a few vague references to it in books (the passage in Lloyd's book is the most specific), and I believe it has similar but differing meanings at the other opal fields. What was your previous understanding?
