If you don’t have much room, you can condense stuff you buy. For example, you can condense two, sometimes three, bottles of aspirin into one bottle.

last year up here in Northern Michigan we had 30 days that were around -18 to -30 below. Thank God we have a fireplace, it's the warmest heat ever. Thanks for the awesome vid guys. So far this year we have only been around -8 below zero. This is one of the best video's I've seen.

You can use chard as its a natural fertilizer. Grow it, put the leaves in a bucket, with lid, let it sit for 2 days, its going to STINK but your plants will LOVE it and thrive. tc

Couple of things, for aluminum foil and wax paper. Go to a restaurant supply to get it in large amounts at once. In Oregon we have a store called Cash and Carry for that. I got a restaurant sized roll of aluminum foil that I have used for literally four years and still have a ton of it left. Also, I want to recommend a book for those who are not gifted seamstresses or seamsters, 'The Hassle Free Make Your Own Clothes Book' is awesome for that!! Also as far as Bay Leaves, I get a ton of them at my mom's in California, I am not sure if they grow where you are, but I would be happy to mail you a bunch if you need it. I can email you to ask. I agree with you that this year something is going to happen. Call it intuition or what but I feel it in my bones.

I used to work at a job outside. I have also worked at jobs i had to go home in snow and blizzards. When winter would come around, it would get below zero. So i learned what to wear to stay warm. Was times i was riding my bicycle home in a blizzard, and no cars on the road. People ask me how i do it. I say to them, because i know i can, and i never give up. Shoes was very important. I have around 10 pairs of shoes now. Some for summer, and some for winter. Most people don't prep for the power going out. When it's winter and the power go's out, you better have cloths ready for winter cold. I learned from standing out in the below zero cold for hours what works, and what doesn't work. I have a few pairs of boots. I have not even wore a few of them yet. I bought them knowing they would set around waiting just in case i need them later. I do that in most cases. I buy a few things of the same stuff. Like having a spare car just in case one breaks down. I never try and live in luxury, but i try and live prepared and useful. Like stacking my stuff up so everything is easy to get to. When you are sick and weak, you need to be able to get to your stuff easy. If you can't get to a doctor, you need to learn how to take care of your own health. In most cases we can heal ourselves. The body has the ability to heal itself. But is things like broken bones we usually need a doctor. People in the past didn't usually have doctors around when they was traveling around the world. They had to take care of what health problems they had themselves. Living off grid, means living self sufficient. It also prepares you just in case the grid goes down. No electric, no city water. 2 things most city people take for granted. Thinking it will always be there when they need it. When you have thousands around you without stuff they need to survive, they become evil. They will kill to survive. And most city people do not prep. Most city people only have enough food to survive a week. Why ? Because they think the stores will always have food ready for them to go get. If you have lived long enough, you have seen times when everybody runs to the stores and empies them out. From bad weather, to riots. And when times get bad, most people only think about themselves. So prepare and store stuff up for later. Because you never know when you will need it. We should have learned this from our elders of the past who have lived through bad times, Like the great depression.

I work leather and am a seamstress. I have a 2 story building for this business. I can make 3 kinds of shoes, but looking for a boot pattern. I have 100s of patterns in all sizes and upstairs is fabric and cutting room. I am looking for a good treddle sewing machine. My plan is to repair clothing or make clothes to barter. Also making personal pads for women, etc. I can not grow enough wheat or corn here for breads, or graze cattle, so bartering will be necessary!!

I used DMSO with echinacea powder to relieve an abscessed tooth until it could be taken care of. It caused the swollen gums to soften and allowed the abscess to drain at the gumline. Really seemed to knock out the infection, too. Goldenseal powder can be poured directly into a wound if needed (works well on animals). Everyone needs Ivermectin and Hydroxychloriquine (sp) now, too.

I've found something that everyone should have for when neosporin and insect bite medicines aren't available. It's a plant called sedum. The liquid in the leaves is amazing for scrapes, bites, burns, most anything that effects the skin. When is in full flower, the liquid is the strongest. Take off around half the bottom leaves and put them in a baggie and save in the freezer. Works great!

Ammo cans are the best seed storage, take the air out of any Ziploc bags used *and make sure there's some paper in there or cotton. Don't use desiccants! I've been able to grow out 20+-year-old seeds so far. Keep them in a cool dry place, better to cold than too hot.

Keep cash...but don't do what we did and save more cash at home than in the bank...when it came time to buy our 2nd farm we wanted to pay a big down in cash and finance the rest...bank refused it if we couldn't prove where the cash came from... We saved for 7 years keeping cash out of the banking system. We finally got it worked out but my husband had to jump through hoops with his employer helping to prove to the bank that he made enough money to justify trust...and in the end they just ignored our cash but gave us the loan. >.< I was reminded when you were talking about cash limits at 1:08. We now are keeping some cash at home but we have to leave alot more in the bank than we wanted to... it's going to be hell leaving the financial system for all those who refuse chip technology. Get your big purchases done now while you can. Thanks for the prep reminders guys :)

I have watched Heidi's ( #RainCountry ) videos on family cloths. I don't currently use them, but would have no problem with using them. With that said...every time I go to a grocery store, I pick up a 12 or 24 pack of toilet paper for the "messy stuff". I also - older but still unfortunately being of age - have stashed and have used menstrual cups. I have the material and supplies to also make pads, if needed for myself or someone else (again, thanks Heidi). Vodka, Whiskey, tobacco, coffee (ground and beans) I also feel will be essential bartering items. And as far as gloves, rubbing alcohol and peroxide...you can't have too much. Living in the north, our property has about 60% birch, the rest poplar and pine. And, just catching a couple comments prior to watching this video, I've placed an order for Manuka honey.

A rocket stove design to melt ice in a stock tank. My dad told me about this but I’ve haven’t seen it anywhere on the internet. Take a 4inch metal square pipe, cut it and wield it into a V. Dad actually said an old muffler pipe but I think the 4inch would work better. Length depends on the depth of the water in the tank. Add feet to keep it upright. Put it in the stock tank before the water freezes and leave it all winter. Before starting chores start a fire in one side and by the time your chores are done the ice should be melted.

@ Barb Shelton ~ I agree 😊 Preppers talk about everything from A to Z. Almost no one talks about FOOTWEAR ie Boots / Shoes and no one talks about Boot / Shoe LACES ! For BOOTS .... I primarily buy RED WING BOOTS used off of eBay.Once I get the boots I throw away the insert-soles and clean them up the best I can. Next,I take them to a RED WING store where they do a TUNE-UP ..... the boots are cleaned and restored with mink oil and waterproofed. Plus they give me new boot laces for FREE ! And I can do it again in 2 to 3 months ! What kind of LACES do you like best bc there are SO many to choose from ? Greetings from South Florida 🌴🌴🌴 June 9th 2022

One of the best shows you have done and thank you , Heads up on glasses , being very vision impaired at a minus 475 I worried about glasses too. a while back Walmart carried a dial vision glasses . You can also go online and look up AS SEEN ON TV and dial glasses . I have a pr. and you dial the little dial at the glasses temple area until you can see . I will tell you they work well and if I was in trouble I could find my way with these glasses . I dialed and was able to read signs . Seems like I paid about $20 for them but since they have been out for some time now they may be less expensive now . They work well . No they aren't the best looking glasses but hey they work . Hope this helps someone . WANDA PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT . Bless you all , Linda

I've kept chickens for 11 years now. We had such rainy conditions up north this year, my chickens ended up with a horrible case of mites. I used DE, garlic/lavender spray, ivermectin, permethrin powder. Nothing worked. It was impossible to treat their "coop" as the areas are built within my 30'x36' horse barn, all rough cut lumber, and not airtight enough to spray/fog, etc. I googled and found a video about making a dust bath using sand and yellow sulfur powder which I finally had to resort to. I purchased it in 20 lb bags off Amazon (Greenway Biotech brand). I also put garlic cloves in their water canisters.

Doltera has helped me in MANY WAYS!! MY sister started a year ago. She initially signed up just for herself. She now she has 20 people selling below her. And 10 more under those 20. Her son-in-law's parents give her clients! I buy through her. I'm not one that likes to do stuff like that but I can tell you IT WORKS!!

Wanda, if you get an app for your phone or tablet called "picture this" you can take a picture of any plant, bring up the app, attach that picture and it will tell you the type of plant. I've never tried it on weeds but it might work for those also. Good luck.

If you are allergic to aspirin, at least stay very well hydrated to reduce risk of blood clots. No tight lower extremity clothing and reduce sitting in one position for long periods of time. Get up and walk around the house frequently.

Hydrogen peroxide is invaluable for washing, and soaking a wound & gargling with, and topically on minor wounds. It also helps with the laundry, and the purer 17% can be used to purify water & to even fight illness or disease (a few drops at a time in water; learn how to use it, and dilute it as needed).

Chew on a birch tree stick. Trim off the bark and chew away. That's where aspirin comes from
@IndiAcres
@IndiAcres 5 жыл бұрын
+Georgia Garden Girl Aspirin is from the willow. The loosened bark (the papery flakes) of the birch make excellent tinder for starting fires. Some native american tribes would also use sheets of birch bark to spread out mashed fruit to dry into "fruit leathers" for winter.
