I used to think it was wrong to think about rewards. But then I read scripture where David did ponder what was in in for him (killing Goliath). Also I realized why would he mention them multiple places if we shouldn't look forward to them and also Paul himself said for all I've been through I'm looking forward to my crown. Ive been through a couple of things and especially I look forward to the Rapture so I may have at least 1 yay!

Jesus earthly ministy is for Jewish nation and offerd kingdom to jewish nation ..How Jesus earthly ministy aplicable to chirstion? Pastor
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
Much of what Jesus did in his ministry was targeted toward the Jewish nation, as well as bringing in the Kingdom. Nevertheless, Jesus di reach Gentiles along the way, and he ended up dying for the sins of the whole world. His entire ministry, attitude, and love is the model in which we are to serve after. We trust in His death, burial, and resurrection for our sins for eternal life, then we serve him after the model in which he exemplified. Jesus knew the word, Jesus prayed, Jesus fellowshipped and taught the disciples, and he shared the gospel with thousands. - Trent

Why would God give ANY believers a crown of life when, by that time we're living life eternally? Jesus forgive me , I don't ask that out of ungratefulness, or disrespect, but wouldn't that kinda be a moot reward? What is so special about it if since we already have eternal life? I feel so bad for wording it that way. I'm just blunt & to the point. I really am curious. 🤔

A crown is a device for rulers. Not just for making it to heaven. Remember the Bible says some would judge angels . There will be new scrolls opened. I believe the ones with crowns will have glorious responsibilities in that time. Lastly, the Bible says you will suffer loss at the prospect of not getting those rewards. You will not find those rewards undesirable.

James is addressing the 12 tribes. The testing of their faith is to NOT go back into the law. When the Jews were dispersed, they were dispersed as a race, not segregated by Jewish Christians and Jewdaism. The Book of James warns believers who are being tempted by the Judaizers to come back to Judaism. Judaism has faith without the Spirit (work of the Spirit). When James says, I'll show you my faith by my works, he is proclaiming the work of the Spirit dwells in him. In the Greek text says The Works, not My Works. I hope you see this. James 2:26 KJV For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:22 has the definite artical with in the subject. It only has to be used once in the Koine Greek language with in the subject. James 2:18 is simply saying the Spirit dwells in him because he believes! Please refer to the KJV Lexicon and Greek literal text.

I believe it is abundantly clear that James is addressing (yes the 12 tribes) believers in Christ who are going through trials. He is addressing the fact that they need to be serving (working) the Lord even through these trials. - Trent

It would be the Spirit at work or working. There is no other work that God accepts.

Yes Leo, but you have to choose to walk in the Spirit. It’s a command in Galatians 5:16. It is fully possible to be saved and live a life of wickedness in accordance to the flesh. This would be tragic, and unfruitful though. And no one would be profited. - Trent

This was really hard for me grasp because I learned (wrongly) from Robert breaker (who has ALOT of great and accurate videos but his dispensational salvation is bogus) I studied James for a long time because it was tripping me up so hard. Until I finally got it and truly realized that it is to saved Christian’s. Everything in there is of the body and not of the spirit. Once you remove the false dispensational salvation (which can never be true or there WILL be boasters in heaven) you clear your mind and realize the truth of James. And when you do it’s unbelievable!😊

* And, Paul said show me your faith and I'll see your good works ( paraphrased ). The problem with the book of James is that it was written before the teachings of Paul was understood. The Jewish apostles of Jesus Christ were still teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, as Jesus Christ had instructed them to teach, Matt. 9:35, 10:5-7. They spent their time preaching the message of the Messiah Jesus Christ to the Jewish communities, instead of reaching out to bring salvation to the gentile people. IMO, that is one reason Jesus Christ raised up, and taught Paul the Gospel of the Grace of God, Acts 20:24, and then sent him specifically to the gentile nations. Read also Acts 9:15, 13:2, 47, 22:21, 26:13--18, Romans 1:1, 5, etc. Another reason was to make the Jewish people jealous, Romans chapter 11, especially verse 11. Paul's Gospel taught that by the Grace of God salvation was given to whomever believed plus nothing else ( works ) was required to gain salvation. The Jerusalem Church still adhered to the Law concerning salvation plus works to establish a person's salvation as James was preaching. Acts 10:44--48 vs. Acts 2:38 should have made a bigger impact upon these Jewish apostles, but they could not get past the commandment that Jesus Christ gave them in Matt. 10:5--7. This is evident from Acts 10:28, Galatians 2:7--10 ( which clearly defines which group belonged to which gospel ), and 2 Peter 3:15--16. Only in the writings of Paul ( Romans through Philemon ) will you find the only pathway available for a person to receive their salvation. 1 Cor. 15:1--4 explains what needs to be done to obtain eternal life. Show me where any of the other authors of the NT expound on the doctrine found in verse 3&4, yet by believing in what is shown in these verses salvation will be obtained. Good works does not reveal faith, but faith will produce good works. Salvation is assured the moment one accepts Jesus Christ, nothing will separate a believer from Jesus Christ the moment he is saved. His eternal life with Jesus Christ is sealed. The Judgement Seat, aka the Beam Seat, will reveal any rewards, or lack of them, for each believer, but their salvation is not in jeopardy.

I'm sorry. But being in heaven is enough for me. Crowns and mansions in heaven don't impress me. They don't impress me here on earth so I don't need them. I'll do my best to please God because He loves me and giving me eternal life to such a wretch like me is reward enough. Honestly I'd love to have a beautiful big log cabin with a wrap-around porch and near a river where I can fish and swim.

Crowns and mansions aren’t the main reward. The people we reach with the gospel are. - Trent

But if God knows all you really want is a nice lof cabin than that's your top reward.

I simply dont agree. The Spirit quicken our mortal coil. If anything is to be accomplished it will be by the power of the Holy Spirit. The flesh will lean towards rewards and therefore it will be works.
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
There is no indication to show that “the flesh will lean toward rewards.” Yes, we should choose to walk in the Spirit, but it is not automatic. God clearly shows us in 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 that those who serve well will be rewarded. - Trent

We're not puppets on a string, my friend. We have to be receptive and aware in order to be led by the Holy Spirit. It actually requires us to do something. This act is granted by God as its for His purpose and good pleasure.

* There's going to be a lot of works burned up at the Judgement Seat, aka the Bema seat. If one loves the Lord, one will try and please Him. If one thinks that by doing something, it will automatically gain them a reward in Heaven, they may be in for a surprise. God judges the heart, and He loves a cheerful giver. God also knows the intent behind every motivation.
