What are the benefits of hot springs?

I am Japanese so I have been to many hot springs in my life but this year when I was in Japan, I was going to one hot spring in Sapporo pretty much everyday and believe it or not, my eczema healed 100%. Of corse it came back since I came back to Aus but I could not believe the benefit of hot springs as I tried so many different steroids cream, natural cream on and on in my life as I have eczema since when I was a child.
