The things I look for when trying out a new glove is making sure there's enough padding in the front / that the padding isn't too hard, that the strap is tough and easy to get tight and that the thumb isn't floating or squeezing my thumb too much (I find some gloves have a really small thumb section that ache my thumb over time from the pressure).

I need a Boxing Glove Recommendation. I am looking for Gloves that help me *Curl my hand into a fist* even if my hand is fairly relaxed. My current Glove (nEverlast) opens my hand and I don't like clenching my fist harder than it should whenever I throw consecutive explosive punches.
@rushiljain65413 жыл бұрын
Did you find something? I just ordered a everlast MMA style heavy bag glove but it seems to have an open thumb onto it. I am wondering if that's okay for boxing and if that will be more prone to thumb injury?
@xyon90903 жыл бұрын
@@rushiljain6541, no that's normal. If its a Heavy Bag gloves, that's usually how they design it. You won't hurt your thumb if you form a proper fist. The thumb protection for fight gloves is more for the safety of your opponent than your hand's protection.

I have a really densely packed heavy bag, and my two favorite pairs of gloves are my RB10s and my Cleto Reyes gloves. The RB10s have great protection and wrist support, but I don’t love the way my fist feels. Sometimes I have to clench my fist harder than normal to make a good fist. The Cleto Reyes training gloves are perfect for me though. Not much in the area of wrist support, but I have great snap on the bag and the thumb position is perfect for me. Definitely excited to try these fight camp gloves though☺️

Would like to also see a video about the various glove weights. I was having some soreness after using the 12oz gloves, moved to the 16s and it's much better. Am likely moving back to the 12s, as I've heard it's easier to boost output (with the FightCamp trackers) with 12s... hope that the soreness doesn't return. Maybe they'll do 14oz gloves??

Would cheap gloves be acceptable if one is a true beginner? I mean, keep in mind that a real beginner would not have the strength to punch in such a way that would hurt his/her hands. On the other hand, if one is a total beginner, it is possible too that one is also lacking the technique to punch properly and not get hurt (especially in the wrist)... Lastly, one might not even be fit enough to do too much damage while wearing 12 or 16 oz gloves....All is new.
