I cut thin Mozzarella, smoked Gouda, Munster and a Mexican style blend of shredded cheeses. I also put a lot of butter and light salt. That is the way I do it but I would like a suggestion as I do love me a grilled cheese.🤤😋

Talk about the bread. That's more important than the cheese. What makes a good crispy bread. What bread will come apart the fastest. Which bread will burn the fatest. What bread goes well with certain cheeses. Its about the bread that makes the taste of the cheese on the cheese sandwich.

In the netherlands we dont make them in a pan. We have specilized grill for them calld: "tosti ijzer" (ijzer means iron). We usaly make them ham/cheese. But you could add things to your likeing. Most people use butter. But i do without. And sinds we are in the netherlands. Its gouda any time. For extra flavour you could order directly from farmers. But supermarkt cheese is fine most of the time.
