Apexinno came out with an updated version that fixes the strap issue and uses a black strap to match Meta. I actually was looking for your's and ended up buying these instead as they had delisted your straps for a short time.

I have had the Active straps since day one and they work great... Didn't have the cheaper option at the time. I added Wii Remote wrist straps to the metal post at the bottoms so I can dangle the controllers when using my phone or itching my face etc. (Double safe too)

I have the Meta ones from day one (ordered them with the Quest). I have the Apex Inno case and I slide the bottom part of the strap, the metal bit, out when putting them in the case so they fit well and slide it back in when taking them out. That way they fit as intended and I don't have to remove the straps. I am a bit worried how the Apex Inno ones will look after a while, that white isn't going to stay white after a lot of sweating.

I have the amvr silicone grips, I don’t have the biggest hands but I have long fingers so the little bit of extra bulk seems to make the controllers really sit nicely in my hands. I really do love the AMVR grips but I had the kiwi design ones for my quest 2 that extended the controllers, which I really loved for beat Saber! I’m really looking forward to your review on the aubika ones, if they’re good and the tracking is still good enough for expert + beat Saber I reckon I’ll get them.

I went ahead and bought the Apexinno Grips from Amazon with the link you provided. It came pretty quick, and the grips were packaged in a clear square case, which I liked. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the Apexinno grip battery covers to work with the rechargeable batteries that come with the Quest 3 dock from Meta. There is a screw in the Apexinno battery cover that secures the wrist strap, and it gets in the way and blocks the ability to fully close the battery cover. You can use standard AA batteries instead of the rechargeable batteries and the battery cover will fit then, but I would rather choose to be able to use the rechargeable batteries and the Meta dock. I'll keep the Apexinno Grips, but I'll have to work on modifying them so that I can make the battery cover fit with the rechargeable batteries from the Meta dock.

Jay, do you have any suggestions as to the best third party hand grips, with or without silicone, that would easily work with the Yezro golf club without having to entirely remove the grips? Maybe ones that would allow the straps themselves could be easily removed, if necessary?

Sometimes you just gotta put out the money for the best quality.....I bought the Meta grips because I wanted something right away-way overpriced but they fit great, work well, and sit perfectly on the Meta charging dock (also way overpriced!). And finally, I am using the Oblik facial interface--also very expensive but the fit and comfort are far better than any mass produced interface. Did I pay too much? Probably, but I am enjoying the Quest 3 with the BOBOVR S3, the Oblik facial interface, and the Meta grips--no regrets at all!!!!

I have larger hands and the Meta one are more comfortable for reaching thumbstick. It's the 2 curves in the sotted metal piece that holds the strap. It's ofset at an angle and also curved through the loop for the strap. The white ones are good for smaller hands and have migrated to the girls quest. also tried the AMVR ones and the flappy ruber thing hinders grip.

really want extended grips now :( I've been rocking the AMVR's. They're good, but I've had my issues with them. Velcro has come loose in some more intense sessions, and I've even had a controller fly out of the actual grip since it's not really secured at the top :/

Thanks for the review! I definitely concur with the comments about the price differential for these straps. With that said I couldn’t get the Apexinno grip battery covers to work with the rechargeable batteries that come with the Q3 dock. The screw in the Apexinno battery cover that secures the wrist strap protrudes too far and blocks the ability to fully close the cover. It’s not an issue when using standard AA batteries, so now I’m wondering if it’s worth the additional expense to get the Meta grips if the Meta rechargeable batteries work better with them. And sure I could use rechargeable AA batteries in a standard form factor instead but then I can’t use the dock to charge them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm starting to think there's more than one version Apex shipped? 🤔 Mine doesn't attach via a screw or have any screws in the build. The bottom attaches to a metal ring hook that slides into the old wrist strap spot. The other end has a hole in the strap that slips around a plastic hook

@@jaybratt Thanks that’s definitely a possibility. The Apexinno grips I have also attach to the controller via the metal ring and hook that slides into the old wrist strap spot at the bottom of the controller. Where the clearance problem exists (on mine anyway) is where the TOP of the strap attaches to the battery cover. There’s the cover itself, some hot glue type adhesive, and then a screw that secures the fabric strap to the battery cover. That screw protrudes too far and interferes with the rechargeable Meta batteries in the controller and you can’t get the battery cover onto the controller. As I mentioned previously, they’re not completely unusable as I can use standard form factor AA batteries. Aside from that one fitment issue I really do like the Apexinno straps. One other question, are the batteries that came with your Quest kind of oddly shaped and don’t look much like a standard AA battery? Was wondering if maybe my Meta batteries were different. I bought the Meta ones on launch day. They're overpriced, but awesome. I put my old Mamut grip, foam wraps on them and it made them 10 x's better too! I also looped the stock wrist wraps on them so i can dangle the controllers if needed.

They are working fine the last 5 month, no Issues, but I agree not worth the price. For my second Q3 I plan to buy in April i am searching for a new product. Don't use the red one. The door can detach from the latch easily because the inner pin, which is supposed to secure it to the body, is missing. I bought it by your suggestion and it was a really bad idea. It fell off twice by swinging my hands so fast in a boxing game.

Another comment mentioned an issue w the red ones that you and I got too, but their comment said the screw inside of it got in the way of rechargeable batteries which confused me because I have zero screws or any metal parts in mine. It makes me wonder if they shipped different models under the same name and that's why some like mine are great but other people aren't having a consistent experience when getting them.

@@jaybratt Actually my problem is the hook inside the lid. The red one only have one pointing downward, like in your video while the factory one has a big one pointing upward. This hook suppose to lock the door firmly to the body. I dropped my controller from the second floor because the lid was simply pulled off, glad it survived without a scratch. I don't see any screw either. It just looks exactly like in your video.

Unfortunately, the Official Meta straps are FAR BETTER than anything else on the market. The Apexinno grips are BAD. Two sets in a row would NOT correctly secure to the controller. They had a small gap and when i tugged on them the battery door just came off. I would NOT trust them. I also have the AMVR grips and while they fit, they are just kinda uncomfortable. I finally broke down and bought the meta ones and while overpriced, they are SIGNIFICANTYLY better than the others

Mine, the door just fell off on a heavy swing and the controller slipped off my hand twice. They lack of the point-up pin that lock the door to the body. I can't believe people are still recommending this one.
