What are the differences between Electromagnet and Electro-permanent Magnet?

Today let's talk about the differences between Electromagnet and Electro-permanent Magnet.
People in the industrial world have almost all been familiar with the permanent magnet and the electromagnet. But fewer people know the electro-permanent magnet and the differences between the three. Since last time we have talked about the permanent magnet & the electro-permanent magnet, this time we'll talk about the electromagnet and the electro-permanent magnet:
1. Different magnet sources. The electromagnet generates the magnetic field by energizing solenoid coils, while the electro-permanent magnet provides a magnet source through two types of rare earth magnet materials.
2. Different working principles. The electromagnet needs continuous electricity to produce the magnetic force, which means high power consumption; while the electro-permanent magnet only needs electricity to magnetize and demagnetize, and needs no power during the working process.
3. Different post-maintenance. The electromagnet needs an emergency power and magnetization system in case of black-out. And its internal coils are easier to heat up and need more maintenance. The electro-permanent magnet can avoid those flaws.
