Signs of early schizophrenia (warning signs you need to consult a psychiatrist immediately) (That’s if you match all the signs only) - you occasionally or frequently having auditory or visual hallucinations such as Auditory: hearing voices that aren’t there, the most common is hearing someone else calling your name but they’re not or hearing someone say soemthing they are not saying Visual: seeing people or ghosts around you when there none it’s usually blurred and hard to see clearly and disappears very quickly - paranoia: you become suspicious of everyone with no evidence and always feel a presence watching you or someone is out to get you - social isolation, do you find yourself less interested in conversations and other people - a growing interest in dark, scary or mystical things - sitting in awkward positions comfortably - frequent short term memory loss or doing impulsive things unconsciously without thinking at all a bout it - inability to plan and organise and feeling overwhelmed with scattered thoughts. - inability to explain or articulate things clearly - not showing any facial expressions / getting lost in a trans - frequent daydreaming - not being able to distinguish your dreams from reality. As worse the condition becomes, the harder it gets in early onset schizophrenia however, you’re usually able to figure it out but late onset schizophrenia, it becomes impossible and you start believing delusions - having extremely creative quirks - inability or reduction in ability to problem solve which is simple for typicals - talking to yourself or to an imaginary friend that continues after childhood - losing possessions frequently - having irrational thinking and irrational emotions which can be related to paranoia And having abnormal reactions to situations - not knowing how to talk to people or how to make a friend or find a lover independently - increased dependency on others - spending too much time alone and being idle and inconsistent and losing effiency - forgetting how to spell easy words or remember what you’re thinking about - frequent mind blanks - decline in school grades and poor behaviour - struggle with concentration - not feeling as hungry as you used to (slower metabolism)

Yeah so you don't need to match all the signs to see a psychiatrist, and hallucinations are not really early, they mostly happen during psychosis and some schizophrenics simply don't have hallucinations or other symptoms described here. There is not only one schizophrenia, there is a unique one for each individual living with it. Some may don't understand reality while some others have extreme anxiety crisis thinking the world is gonna fall apart in the next second. It's not all black or all white.

im twenty one and ive had some of these symptoms since i was a teenager but nowadays i literally have every single one of these symptoms and i know its possible that doesnt mean im schizophrenic but im hella worried now hahaha as far as i know schizophrenia does not run in my family but i never looked into it so thats fun. i could just be freaking myself out over nothing but the small possibility that i actually do have schizophrenia is scary

at 4 years old I remember seeing my Uncle Welman with a colored tongue which looked like a long lizard. it bothered me for months. I believed my father had been replaced. by 7 I had to be put in a hospital for crying out and passing out. I couldn't pass algebra in high school because the formulas and geometries in my imagination were as real as the ones I studied. I couldn't tell which ones were the real ones. I would 'have' to do certain rituals to ward off bad events. recently diagnosed schizophrenic. my biggest problem is I no longer feel any more real than a dream and fear that possibly I am dead in a ditch somewhere and this 'life' I am living is some corpses dream, though 90% sure I am alive, I'm not 100% sure, and I cannot FEEL that anything is real. on Seroquel things look more 3D and plastic and thus everywhere it seems like I'm in a fantastic box-like scene. the more real everything appears, the less real I become, the less I belong. a nomad from my spirit world, out of place in your world, sort of surfing through the landscape. the world becomes less digital and more analog while I become less analog and more digital, the price to pay to remove anxiety and reduce visual 'glitches' and headaches

My son had a friend that was schizophrenic he went to college had a job at Walmart. No one at his job knew or at school. He was a wonderful person. He took his life by taking all his medication. His memorial service was packed with lots of friends. I think this person is full of it .

Interesting. I am not diagnosed with schizophrenia - my psychiatrist made that very clear to me. I also don't have any cognitive problems. I was however diagnosed with psychosis at age 35 and I am female. I was extremely social as kid and growing up - I had a lot of friends and enjoyed being in groups and around people. I did very well in school, and some subjects better than others. I have also always been very active in sports and had many interests. I have an above average IQ which was tested on 2 occasions. The only thing is that I had anxiety later on in life, but thats about it.

Can you accurately predict or correlate early brain changes 100% of the time to the development of schizophrenia? Also is there any correlation between IQ’s and schizophrenia?

I didn't roll over on time, and I was later on a few other things (probably because I was born lazy and everyone picked me up upon my orders), but when I did do something, it was all at once, unlike other children. I began talking in sentences, not baby babble. My first phrases weren't "mom" and "dad," but they were, "pretty purple," "I want a cookie," "pick me up." That's what grandma told me.

I’m scared. No idea if anyone will every read this. Both of my parents have been diagnosed with schizophrenia due to trauma, drugs and brain injury. Now it’s known those three factors don’t cause schizophrenia but trigger it. Myself have been diagnosed with some things that seem false or incorrect to me; chronic depression, ADHD, social anxiety and ptsd. Just to give you a picture. Since I became 16/17 I’ve started to change drastically as a person. Till now, I feel like my brain becomes more impaired by time. Because of my fogginess, I got diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago but I’m not really a classic ADHD’er, it’s far worse, I sometimes wonder what kind of function my brain has. When I became 18, I started to become really interested in the occult, obsessiveness, a few hypomanic episodes ( I’m not bipolar ), really paranoid at work/ supermarket, I feel empty, lost all my friends and lost my desire to maintain social contact ( I still do ), I’ve never been able to make eye contact. I’m not able to tell a story without telling 3 stories at a time ( people shut me off really fast ), I see weird colours and shapes that move shortly, sometimes sort of weird rails. I thought I began seeing that kind of stuff because I opened my third eye but knowing about this phase made me rethink, it’s maybe a sign. I’m really afraid of Inheriting it because both my parents have it and I actually do have all the early warning signs. I feel ridiculous, I see shadows at night while I never really did. I’m extremely anxious and it gets worse every year. I feel like I’m not able anymore to live in the present, I’m swimming through mist. I just don’t feel anything and it hasn’t faded away since last year. I also noticed that taking stimulants might have accelerated the onset. Last year I also told my psychiatrist about my psychotic symptoms but I really just needed to sleep. Had a sleep schedule of 3/4 am till 2. I’m also tired of seeing these weird shapes and colours, it’s like when you stare too long at a screen and then quickly to a white wall. But then permanent. I really wonder how I’ve become so impaired, so drastically the few years. Sometimes when I look at people, I get sort of alienated, they don’t look human anymore, and also, I’m just not able to have a conversation because I feel extremely foggy. Everything from the past keeps playing like a recording and sometimes it just makes me randomly laugh, that’s what my colleagues have noticed too, what I didn’t noticed myself which scared me. But I’m not surprised if in the upcoming year, a psychosis appears. I’ve been delusional many times, I’ve hated everyone, I’ve loved everyone. I do not want to inherit what my parents have. Now I sleep and eat healthy, and I haven’t noticed improvement. I’m scared.

@THE FRUSTRATED NEET ASPIRANT Don’t be scared, I was absolutely delusional back then. Months have passed and I have realised none of those diagnoses are relevant now. I was deeply depressed and stressed. Ignored my feelings, ignored myself, stood up way too late, took substances too often I think. I quit a shitty job, I am patient with myself, meditate regularly, becoming an upholsterer and I want to practice kung fu next month. I would never imagine my life improve so drastically. Have faith but also have a serious talk with yourself and look at the aspects of your life that you want to change. Sit with your emotions and write them down. Eliminate stress and rest enough: I am actually ashamed I wrote this, but if you really feel like something is off badly, get help! Just had an amazing reiki session, I swear life is getting better. And so for you.
