Hi, Dheeraj great video and invaluable tips. My friend and I want to go on 750 ss motorcycles from Bulgaria through Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and go through several passes in Ladakh. The time we will be in northern Pakistan and Ladakh will be from August 15 to August 30. There are a few unknowns about our journey. 1 can we enter Ladakh with our motorcycles? 2 Can we enter Ladakh from the north via Pakistan? 3 I understand that the second half of August is not the best time for Ladakh, but is it possible to do it then and what obstacles to the weather would we have? If you can help us with these questions we will be very grateful.

Well, it is difficult to say, most places which have airports with flights to Ladakh in India are not that high in altitude. Why do you want to do it by the way? For acclimatization? If yes, you can fly directly to Leh and then go down to Uleytopko for couple of nights to acclimatize

Hey Dheeraj, I am travelling to Leh from Mumbai next week. It is a 4 am direct flight from Mumbai which reaches Ladakh at 6.30 am. Needless to say that I shall be awake all night apart from getting some sleep in the 2.5 hr flight. I had initially planned to check in to the Hotel in the morning itself & sleep during the daytime on Day 1 to recover for the lost sleep. But i just got to know it is not advisable to sleep during daytime on day 1 if one wishes to get acclimatized properly within a day. Is it true? If yes, when should i manage to recover the 1 night's sleep i've lost due to my Flight, so that i'm fresh enough for the Bike trip to next day.
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Yes buddy it is very much true and I have that explanation in one of my AMS tips video because sleep decreases our respiratory drive. If you really feel like sleeping then do it in upright position and may be like a power nap. Then by late evening sleep for the night. Drink lots of liquids and juices throughout

Hi Dheeraj, Thanks for detailed information and amezing content. I am planning Ladakh trip with my wife in Aug 2021. After Ladakh trip, I need to join my friends for Yunam Peak climbing in Bharatpur Tent Colony before keylong. hence I have planned Ladakh trip for acclimatization. Please let me know if below plan looks good. I will be hiring bike in Leh. I ve done Ladakh twice before hence not included Nubra and Pangong in plan. Day 1- Mumbai - Leh Early Morning Flight Day 2- Leh Sightseeing Day 3- Leh to Hanle (Rented Bike) Day 4- Hanle to Tso Moriri via Mahe (Rented Bike) Day 5 - Tso Moriri to Leh (Rented Bike) Day 6- Leh(extra day) Day 7 - Leh to Bharatpur Tent Colony by Leh-Keylong Bus (For Yunam Climbing)

Hey Vishal, What I will recommend is for better acclimatization and so that you get prepared well for the trek is: Day 1- Mumbai - Leh Early Morning Flight Day 2- Leh Sightseeing Day 3- Leh to Nyoma (will help with acclimatization for Hanle, otherwise it is a big jump) Day 4- Nyoma to Hanle (Rented Bike) Day 5- Hanle to Tso Moriri via Mahe (Rented Bike) Day 6 - Tso Moriri to Leh (Rented Bike) Day 7 - Leh to Bharatpur Tent Colony by Leh-Keylong Bus (For Yunam Climbing)

Do I need special permit to visit Hanley . Please rply
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need to get the Hanle stamp from DC office on your permit to visit Hanle. Permit for Hanle is not yet available online and when asking for the verification of permits at the DC office in Leh, they will put a stamp saying Hanle permitted as well on the copy of your permit. Also this year only day visit to Hanle is allowed and night stay is not allowed.

@discoverwithdheeraj

Yes, you need Covid-19 RTPCR report for no older than 96 hrs. If going by road then you need to present the certificate at Meenamarg from Srinagar side and Upshi from Manali side before entering Ladakh. Permits will also be only issued based on the report.
@MusafirKid

from where should we do covid RT-PCR test , ig going by road? if we do it from delhi and if we can't reach ladakh within 96 hours then it will be a problem, kindly give your suggestions upon this
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Prasun, if you are going by road, what I have heard is that from Srinagar side they are setting up a shed at Meenamarg checkpost and from Manali side they are doing the same at Upshi checkpost to conduct RTPCR tests for all inbound Ladakh tourists by road. However, you can also do them in Kullu or Manali and then Srinagar or Jammu before entering Kargil or Ladakh from either side
@MusafirKid

@@discoverwithdheeraj ok but RT-PCR test results will take 48-72 hrs , for that time period where should we can arrange for the accomodation?
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
I think they plan to do the Rapid tests as well at these posts and allow further but then upon reaching Leh, before you travel to other places in Ladakh and apply for permits they will not issue permits with RTPCR results. Again things are changing rapidly hence it will be best to get the tests done in Jammu or Kullu Manali to allow these times
