Alaskan here, those plates you were seeing were the newer Alaskan license plates, which depict a standing brown bear in the center of them! Funnily enough as a beginner geoguessr player, when the license plates are blurred, I found that the Alaskan and the 2003 Philippine license plates of all things look very similar! EDIT: upon second watch the first license plate was the new bear license plate, and the second was an old blue and yellow one

I've never seen any of these maps played before, so very interesting content! I think Boise is pronounced Boy-zee (which makes zero sense at all). Oregon has plates that have a big green tree in the centre. I think you can kinda see it on the back of the black SUV, but I still would have made the same area guess as you did.

A lot of states in the USA have alternate license plates. Here in Minnesota, we have the usual white with blue writing, but there are some new ones that are black with white writing, and a bunch of different ones with nature scenes. The money for the special ones usually goes to special interest groups (nature conservation, etc.). Thanks for the video!

Super fun games! I love the assortment of maps! 13:17 That Tanzania guess by you was fantastic, but there was a flag on the pole to the right of us in that round that could have helped.

that Roseburg round was gettable from the mountains, it looks very cascadian!

also the layout of the downtown street with the width of the sidewalk and the grid pattern would be very unlikely to be found in the northeast, which has much older towns generally!

Those looked like the old Alaska plates from the late 90s and early 2000s... Idk if you can still get them as alternative plates.

Played map number 4, did better than I expected to be honest. First round was a dumb guess from me tho. Immediately thought UK from the buildings, even tho the license plates would've easily told me Ireland. Maybe I could've found the town, if I had paid more attention :D Second round the website gave away the country and was able to find the city as well. Couldn't find the school, but still a good guess. Third round was a bit weak, couldn't figure out the state, and ended up guessing Colorado. 4th round I knew was UK, but had no idea where it could be. Last round I remembered where Essex was, but couldn't find it still. Just above 20k score, slightly beating the average. Also Suomi mainittu, torilla tavataan!

If you user MapMaker app, you can panoID locations so they are not changed when new coverage comes out. :)
