My husband and I are thinking of retireing in broken bow . What are your thoughts ,health care, veterinarians for our dogs and places to buy groceries ect .

What your calling Broken Bow is actually Hochatown OK. We have been going there for years and has blown up since covid. It gets really packed on holidays. I will agree on your cons. It rains ALOT up there for some reason. Traffic is very bad and about to get worse as they are going to widen 259. They also now have a casino but nothing special. Nice hotel

Are there a lot of bugs/mosquitos? Any particular months to go and months to avoid?

We haven’t personally had a bug or mosquito problem, which is a surprise for me bc I always get bit. I’d recommend going during the mar-Oct months to float the river, and if you’re wanting a slower pace - Nov-Jan is really nice too

Depends on where your cabin is located. The hills and terrain can be very challenging without a truck or SUV

When we stayed a couple for this video there is no way I could have driven there in a car. The roads leading to our cabin were very rough
