Remember people. The solar sales jobs on indeed may lie, or overstate how much money you will probably make. Sure you can make $100k your first year, but expect 40k - 50k to set expectations. This is a hard job, it is not easy. Be smart.

Thanks for your insight, Connor. Appointment Setters are all typically independent contractors, right? Do the solar companies have sales goals for their Appointment Setters? What if the company decides you’re a low performer or doesn’t hit the sales goal? Do contractors receive any benefits, like healthcare? If the contractor gets sick or injured does the solar company terminate the contractor? What are opportunities for advancement after Appointment Setter? How are taxes handled? As an independent contractor is it up to you to handle and pay your taxes every year? What does a typical Appointment Setter schedule look like? Appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

Im a g installer with my grid connect battery and solar ticket and im moving into sales within our company, just wondering if anyone has some advice on how to switch up from tradie to salesmen and gain the knowledge of the ins and outs of the actual contract . Ive got great customer service, and our company really focuses on ethical sales, but i have no one within our company to learn from as we purely contract, and my boss is more of an on the tools boss if someone could point in the right direction or drop some knowledge bombs on me that would be greatly appreciated

Most sales jobs don’t require any experience just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, but it will depend on the company. I recommend any thing door 2 door. The mindset you develop from knocking on doors is more valuable than the money.

Each company is different. Some will advance a percentage of the sale before install. Just be careful because if it doesn't end up getting installed, it will be deducted from your next pay check.
