Good day Family, I seriously need prayers in my life, my name is Innocent from South Africa am born again Christian, but am really battling with masturbation, ever since 2013 to this day, I pray a lot, I went to different fasting, I asked believers in Christ to pray for, I read the Bible o basically have done everything that I know, but still am failing, this year is become worse in a weekend I do it 2 or even times times is very bad and what is scaring me is that when this feeling hold me down I can hear a voice telling me is wrong but I can't stop, once I finish I feel like trash, I hate myself am scared that drifting away from GOD, I know deep inside that I love Jesus Christ and want to follow Him with everything I can, this sin is taking my confidence bit by bit, I feel like am losing it and that is so scary for me, please pray for me cause I don't want to go back there is nothing for me there I want to continue following Jesus, please pray for me. If you choose technology over God, then it is definitely idolatry. I use tech for entertainment and for Bible study, but I dont submit myself to just sit on the CPU or TV all day. If it prevents you from doing other things in life, and away from wanting more of God, then there is your answer. The fact that technology is real shows me that there is a God that gave us wisdom, that can be used for his glory or not because of sin.

The fallen angels have been in heaven with God. Therefore, their intellect is, as logical as it can be, great compared to ours. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the internet is made by the devil considering WWW is in hebrew 666. Also, I don't use technology for entertainment. I've learned how to rejoice in God instead of video games, anime, memes. God approves of neither of those.

@@messianicteachingspage That's good, then that means I also don't need a cell phone that tracks our location, and even a car due to radio technology. Because of Radios many have recieved Jesus Christ. Through KZbin I have shared the gospel and answered many questions. While we can use the internet before it is restricted with using the word of God then I will use it. Eventually these channels wont exist, the fact that they are still available for viewers, is incredible.

@@messianicteachingspage I use computers because I need to for online classes, but if it were necessary I wouldn't use a computer for researching. If it were the 1970s I would have been a pleasure. I'm born in 1992, so I never lived a life like those in the past, but if I could turn in hw by paper in a type writer that would be nice, but isnt acceptable, now they want it typed by computer.

The fact that we should ask God directly for wisdom on things doesn't mean that it is never right to ask the advice of a Christian leader. If we were to follow what you say literally, then we should avoid ever asking anyone for advice, which makes no sense. I'm not sure exactly what your point is about pastor/Pastor. I do think John Piper makes a mistake by using the title 'Pastor'. In Matt 23:8-10 Jesus tells his disciples not to use titles when they become church leaders. He explicitly mentions 3 titles to avoid, 'Rabbi'/'Teacher,' 'Father' and 'Instructor', but the implication is don't use any titles at all. Of course, Piper is a pastor, but it is a mistake to use the title 'Pastor'. Titles lead to pride, and this is what Jesus is warning against.

Something I have wondered for a while now is whether the existence of the internet is a good or a bad thing overall. It allows people to do things that were previously impossible, and some of these things are good and others bad. For example, I think there are over a billion pages of porn online, and the amount of evil in this is gigantic. But on the other hand, Christian teaching and evangelism are possible in new ways, such as this video from John Piper. On balance, I think the internet is probably a good thing overall, but I'm not sure about that. Piper is right that the latest technology can become an idol that takes our eyes off the living God.

Weirdly enough, my technology use hasn't diminished, but it has certainly changed. Before, outside of work, I used it primarily for entertainment. Video games, TV shows, anime, etc. Now, almost all of that time is spent with either stuff like this or research for the Bible. Just yesterday I was struggling to understand a chapter in Isaiah and was able to find a wealth of info from other Christians that helped me make sense of it. I've used Zoom and Facebook to listen in and take notes on sermons when Coronavirus caused closed doors. Technology is a tool and can be used to edify, entertain, corrupt, or any other thing you can think of, what matters is how you use it.

As a teenager that has grown up with technology, I know that there is a constant battle for my attention between God and comfort/technology. I’m asking the Lord to lead me in His will and way, but to be honest the grip of tech/comfort is strong. It is a constant choice that has to be made. Hey bro also on the same path as you and this is really really good what you’re doing and I really wanted to give these other techniques and things I’ve found out; Mula bandha, jalandhara bandha, ajna bandha, trataka the bandhas, Hand lock or hand clenching for hand chakras or mudras too, urine therapy, fasting, pada bandha, blinking, massaging carotid sinus, emotional freedom technique, the Qi or chi ball or how to feel energy, A lil meditation technique I also heard works is paying attention to the heartbeat and being able to relax it n slow it down, alternate nostril breathing to balance ida and pingala, keeping the spine straight or posture, for spine health, and instead of mantras I’ll listen to music in head to focus on, Ive also heard chanting ones own name can be pretty good as it goes deep in subconscious, or visualizing counting down by 3 from 100 to 0, flaring the nostrils or raising eyebrows like if looked surprised and smiling too for facial muscles, and kumbhaka or kapalbhati pranayam is used to regulate the level of co2 in our bodies and through research co2 is actually as important as oxygen and dark room retreat and visualization and these things should heal all the chakras. But I believe in hatha yoga where have to balance ida and pingala so then the prana flows through the sushumna channel, and then once sushumna is activated prepares us for deeper meditations, and then from the base of the spine to the crown we work on the chakras to have a kundalini awakening and leads to liberation or moksha and stuff but ya just wanted u to know bro👍💯

I implore you, bro, to listen to Jesus' message and turn away from the doctrine of demons. If you meditate, meditate on things that give life - things like God's Word. But take it from me. I used to practice various forms of meditation and New Age acoustics/alchemy/etc. Kundalini is a spirit that seeks to devour your soul, and those eastern-originated practices you mentioned are all steeped deeply in demonic forms of worship. Be blessed, and invite Jesus to shine the light of understanding on your heart and habits. He'll do it! :)
