#FAQ on Flute Selection: I highly recommend a 'Scale - 4' flute for South Indian Carnatic Flute aspirants. It is only my personal opinion. Reasons being: The radius of the holes, Distance between the holes, the pressure required to get the sound are apt for absolute beginners.

+Sriharsha Ramkumar, Sir I may sound sily but I want to know what kind of flute did lord krishna played ? I've heard he played Venu six inches long with six holes, Murali eighteen inches long four holes on the body and vamsi fifteen inches and nine holes but none of these matches with any of the flutes on the video, please solve the mystery sir !

Hey People, Hope you all are doing great! I’m so happy to see my KZbin family grow day by day. We are close to 30K subscribers family. For the love and support I’ve received from you all, I decided to construct a fully loaded audio and video recording studio. The studio is in completion stage right now and I just can’t wait to get into the recording mode. I am working on new collaborations and will surely come up with a lot of popular covers & tutorials! Thanks for being patient and apologies for being a little inactive through this year. Stay subscribed for some exciting stuff coming on your way! Cheers, Sriharsha

Nice one! Here in brazil the carnatic flute tipe is called pifano. Its the same six holes like a bansuri, but it is in higher register.
@stethoscanomaly8 жыл бұрын
Is the bansuri always in a lower register and the venu in a higher register (like the ones you showed in the video) or are there different sizes / pitch ranges for the flutes? Great video, thanks.

Hi! Sriharsha Ramkumar, thankyou for sharing your knowledge about flutes, as an ideal flute player. Iam Giridharan from Tamilnadu and Iam still a lot confused about the classification of flutes based on the tunes they produce. What I want to know is what are the different tunes available in different flutes and what are they? I was keen to notice your speech in which you said,"I have a lots of knowledge about flutes". So, please make us clear by answering my above questions? And please make it as soon as possible. And once again thankyou for this video which made me gain some knowledge.

Hi! there are two different types of North Indian flutes, The Sidhi (Straight in Hindi) and Aadi (Sidewise in Hindi) flutes. You have a Sidhi flute. It is very common in folk music. It is advisable to improve your finger movements on a Sidhi flute and work your way up to a aadi(Sidewise) flute . Happy Learning :)

Although this may be too late to reply to you,the root note of a scale in the western music is sa in Indian music, tho to get the swaras like Shankarbharanam i.e the major scale also known as Dorian mode. It would really help you if you look up at modes in wester music wich is basically different swaras but in western terms.eg. natabharivi is minor scale also known as Aeolian mode. Hope this helped you
