I think that's one of the things people really don't understand. 90% of the time you find nothing. 10% you score stuff. That means you have to be out hunting a lot to get a whole lot of stock. Also the weeks / months / years to build up relationships with the right places / people to get first digs on things. We are actually opening a collectible shop this year (near Stoke-On-Trent or abouts there) and its a lot of hard work to constantly be stocking up. We do a series called stuff for the shop, in between the other Geek World shows, and for a 20 min show every week it's at least 6 hours minimum of running around hunting that week. I am sure it's exactly the same for you, every 20 mins of an episode we see I can imagine it's hours in the background of actual running around and work.

Last weekend at a boot fair, a lady had Nintendo DS games for sale: Brain Training + three shovel-ware fashion games. Wanted £3 each "but you can have all four for £10". I thanked her for the offer but moved swiftly on 😅

I work at a car boot sale and people can pay £8 to go in as an early buyer from 10 o'clock, the same time as sellers go on, it oficially starts a 1 o'clock

If your boot sale starts that late then i can bet that sellers go round and buy all the good stuff before anyone else is allowed in. Probably why you don't find loads to be honest.

Stores like cex have massive overheads including rent and staff. That woman has basically none by comparison. And eBay involves postage and fees, none of which applies to boot sellers. So really she should be a lot cheaper than both cex and eBay.

I paid a fiver for a wii bundle the other day and the only reason i took it was due to the wii motion plus controller. You cant give a wii away at the moment.

Car boot sellers might have realised, at last, that resellers are picking up the "bargains" then heading straight to CEX, and they don't want to be taken for mugs anymore. They probably don't know what's actually valuable and what isn't, but I dont think they care.

I've noticed recently an increase in wii prices at the bootsale this year compared to last year I've seen worse bundles for 80 90 £ I wonder if these are the people who paid crazy money for a wii in lock down 2020 and because they paid £150+ they think 60 to 80£ Is a good price to flog it for 🤷🏻‍♂️

See wii all the time for around £10 15 worst thing I saw the other day someone trying to sell a white Xbox 360 with 1 controller no leads and fifa 12 for £50 probably red ringed and not gonna work in that same day picked up a ps3 for £5 all working

Bit debatable if you get your money back from cex sometimes they try and fob you off with a voucher. But if you stand your ground you could get money back

it's in the terms and conditions of the warranty I believe. They'll always try and force a voucher as will any retailer but like you said, you'll get the refund if you stand your ground

Prices really are daft currently at car boots I'm new to car boots was going to pick up the odd bargain game for personal use and maybe to sell on. Last weekend at a car boot (manchester area) I found a ps2 slim with one controller and a few random games (usual fifa etc) I asked if it worked he said he didn't know straight away I'm put off it but I ask price anyway. "It's £40 mate" I just said not for me at that price and offered £20 which I thought was a really good offer. Flatly refused to budge so I moved on. The whole games already priced is pretty much as every stall I visit,I came home empty handed. Complete waste of time and energy.
