This is a great, simple explanation thank you. I am having some trouble entering the project ID and the data-set name before the function name in a persistent UDF. I get the following error: Syntax error: Unexpected string literal Can you offer any advice?

Are you using backticks around the project name? Alternatively, if you are creating the UDF in the same project you have selected in the project dropdown, you can also remove the project name all together, and just reference: dataset_name.function_name(parameters). This is what my example query that creates the persistent UDF in this video does: goo.gle/32Aextq

@@aliciawilliams5520 Thanks for getting back so quickly. In my function I was using [project_ID].[dataset_name].[table_name].[function_name(parameters)] I took your advice to drop the project ID and also dropped the table name and it works now! Thank you for your example, very useful.
