My buddy Mitch Howe put the Petty bar in the car and if you look at the subframe connectors there should be caps in them to fill with weight. The caps and bungs were made for Triumph motorcycle oil tanks we fabbed at the time and he threw a couple on the subframe connectors.

The upside down shift lever and putting O/D where 3rd gear “should” be is exactly how Chrysler put overdrive in the A-833 in the mid 1970s. The upside-down lever just swaps 3rd and 4th in the shift pattern.

@@martymorse2 I have always been a nascar fan, I've been disappointed in the rule packages of late... and he was correct... the Tex Racing 101A is a clutchless 4 speed. very similar to the old T10's... the fourth gear is a one to one output so Tex Racing used a .91 overdrive in the third gear set.... but shifting 1243 the car ends up with that .91 OD when you shift to fourth in the nomal patteren actually putting it in third gear.
