The Olympic athletes were all rounded up (well, most of them, at least) in San Jose before they left for China and they each got tons of stuff. Their uniforms for the opening ceremony and gifts like sneakers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, etc. Even new phones, or so I heard. There are all sorts of material benefits to making the Olympic team, too!
