Hmm this was a tough one. My son and I often watch your videos together. Today I am sitting in his hospital room with him and trying my best to be strong for him. He was in a horrible car crash 15 days ago and now has a broken c-7 vertebrae in his neck and a severe brain injury. He is 16. Loves horses and diesel trucks and is/was very talented with both. Everything he was working for is up in the air now. He’s just trying to live. And I’m just trying to support him and love him. That’s what we’re working for this Easter Sunday. Just to keep things in perspective.

I am praying for you and your son. God always provides. He promised a safe landing but not a easy flight. Tell him I say howdy. What is his name so I can pray for him.

I know I’ll never be a very rich man. What am I working for? To give my 3 daughters a more stable childhood than I had and to get them pointed in a good direction so they atleast have a better idea of what direction to head than I did. I don’t waste my brain cells wishing I had it better or regretting my choices. Instead on focus ahead to be prepared for the next challenge.

Sounds like a guy l knew. Ed had a heart of gold and was the salt of the earth. He left a hole in alot of our hearts when he passed. He will be missed greatly. So, what are we working for? If l look at my life, and its at least 2/3 spent...and maybe all spent... l realize l don't have a corner on the market of life. l live by Gods grace. Every day l am given is a gift. I map out my day with various chores, but if given the oppurtunity to say a word, l try to give glory to our Creator. lts the least l can do...its my reasonable service.

That’s a good question and probably too much for this platform. However, I will say that God does not usually speak to us as humans speak to each other. He can speak through our thoughts, circumstances, other people, but these must all line up with scripture. In my case, through prayer and tragedy He brought healing to my family and hundreds of others.

Wise words. Lost my folks 5 years apart, cleaning out a home and property of a family’s lifetime of memories has been a long, and at times a difficult process. I never cared about “stuff”, but the process sure made me go through a lot of self reflection. 😢

What are you working for?... In the End? I guess yourself. Trying to do what you love and believe in. Your kids probably won't follow you dreams. But, if it works out, they will have love in their hearts, always back up their family and friends, stand for what you taught them, and pass it on. Cows die, money gets spent, houses fall down but hopefully what you pass down keeps going on and on.

Upon our death if we aren't missed, tears shed and no one wailed for us then we weren't working in the right areas for the right reasons. Upon my grandfather's death I wailed for a 1/2 hour at least. He was one of two people (his wife my grandmother also) that I knew was 110% on my side. He was my Texas roper cowboy idol and more like a father than my own father. I am honored to be the grandson of the two finest God fearing people that I have ever met. Work to be 110% on someone else's side. Be unforgettable and honor others. Live a clean life. The rest will come as God's will and take care of itself.

@@emilylewis7642 Its sure hard to figure out what it is God wants you to do over what you want to do. Lots of prayer and reading the scriptures helps. I know for me it was every time I tried to do it my way he would shut the door on me but open a window the direction he wanted me to go. When I started listening things got real clear real fast.

@@HorsemanshipAsAnArt ...you couldn't have said it any plainer or better. That's exactly how it goes. We may ask for His will, then we get impatient and do it our way because we want an answer right now. As you said, he can trip us so fast we have no idea what happened and then we start the blame game of someone did me wrong, can't get any luck, etc., etc. His answers are also whispers, he doesn't shout it out loud. But if you wait on Him, He will open other windows and doors as you stated. Keep on Brother!

After losing two friends in a horse/cattle/drowning accident, all the grief and publicity, the stares and the stories, the trauma and the flashbacks, I came to the conclusion that I want to die and not be remembered. Its hard to explain. I dont want to be known, dont want to be famous, dont want to be... remembered. All that I really truly need is God. I couldn't impress him that day to work things in my favor. I need the firm, everlasting God that cannot be tricked or coerced into doing the things that i want him to do.

Great story. John 6:27 Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal. Colossians 3:23-24 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
