It’s beliefs about a certain group of people, which have underlying truths. A generality or stereotype, which is based off true underlying observable factors. White people do tend to earn more and thus tip more, what is a minuscule amount to whites is a large amount to people in developing countries. Hence whites get preferential treatment, sell to them and you might have them taking back a handful of your products. The children of intact black families earn more, but since the 60s, there’s been a steady decline in intact black families, and now 70% are born to single parent households, hence their negative reputation.

Its easier to travel to Europe and Asia. I can go anywhere in Europe without a Visa, just book a hotel and hop on a plane. Same with much of Asia. I can't do that with say Ghana or Kenya, which in my opinion are the best countries in Africa. I'd need a Visa, and a Yellow Fever shot. On top of that why would we even go there? Much of Africa honestly isn't that developed. If I'm going on vacation, I want to be comfortable. That said I do plan on visiting later this year just to clear my bucket list, likely to SA as its one of the few Visa free countries, but until African nations decide to open up a bit more its unlikely we'll be traveling there much.

White Male The whole of America and Western Europe benefitted from slavery. For America alone it sped up development at an alarming rate. Even if only a small percentage of whites owned enslaved Africans then the majority sat by and reaped the benefits for 400 years. And let's not pretend those who didn't own slaves were nice, they would hang, burn, mutilate and black person who looked in their direction.
@SuperMuneera
@SuperMuneera 7 жыл бұрын
White Male If you came to Somalia like any part of Africa no one would discriminate against you based on your colour. If anything people would be fascinated by you and you'd have a massive advantage for being different to the average person. The concept of race and particularly racial hatred is European. If black people were as bad as whites, white South Africans wouldn't be alive and thriving in South Africa. Imagine if blacks had taken over a white nation and became rich at the expense of the natural inhabitants thus making them second class citizens. WW3 would start. Essentially whites like you complain that black people live in your countries. But no black people have ever taken control over a European nation. Just the presence of blacks infuriates you smh.

I can’t tell by your comment you didn’t listen to a word he said 🤦🏿, he literally explained it, it’s all about intentions. In Western European countries like England, France, Spain etc. they have more exposure so it’s not a innocent mistake, the have the knowledge to know while in Eastern European countries it’s the lack of exposure so it’s not done to create hurt, even though you can find bad apples in both places, so basically Eastern European countries are the lesser of the bad apples because there’s room to learn and understand, while in western countries they already have the knowledge they are just choosing otherwise

There are different people in Ukraine, some people will stare at you if you have other skin color. If you are in places, where foreigners supposed to be- then no-one cares. But if its a small town or people from there- yes, you can see by their face they are surprised, but if they are well-raised, they won't gossip. We aren't that spoiled by tourists yet, so thats why some people(usually low educated) need time to realize that there are many other races on this planet.

It's just as easy if not more so now. The mechanics of racist government have shifted to where instead of being written off in advance in the law books, it's made to seem as if it's not there at all while arguably doing more damage than ever. The only thing that's more difficult to get away with is overt shows of racism. If someone says something undeniably racist, they'll likely lose their job. But the systems of racist oppression of brown skin people has become so perverse in the US and the West that they'll sell poison and death to brown skin people right in front of everyone and then then convince everyone that it's a good thing.

You can speak your ebonics/vernaculars... but understand the stigma that comes along with that, when society thinks that is the only way you know how to speak. Yes, African Americans have made it so "other" Blacks haven't dealt the same hand you have, at the same time.. in your ignorance, you've created this "stereotypical Black" that we all as Blacks have to endure, because of the way you speak/behavior/crime/drugs etc.. No one has this right, but other races and ethnicities respect it. Only blacks blame others for racism, ignorance and backwardness when they don't get what they want. It's called a bad experience no racism and ignorance.

Станислав Фурс Sometimes racism isn’t overt so it’s not easy to spot. Definitely, the fear is understandable but hopefully Ukrainians can overcome the fear for immigrants who are respectful & integrate. Also I just checked online, the foreign population/ethnic minorities are less than 1% of the population so there aren’t many immigrants in Ukraine.
