I think the main reason why bhool bhulaiyaa's horror works so well in the movie is because they actually never showed us the ghost like they did in bhool bhulaiyaa 2 like it was all Vidya balan and her powerful expressions which kept scaring us most of the time

1:05 Bhool Bhulaiyaa is not a remake of Chandramukhi. It is the remake of 1993 released film of Mohanlal, Manichitrathazhu. Chandramukhi itself is a remake of that film. Those who had watched the movie, would definitely know how mesmerizing Shobana's expression was!!!

Exactly. I was going to say the same. it was shown in Doordarshan long back also, in pradeshik film airing schedule which used to happen every thursday. Shobhna ji didnt just act well. She danced soooo well. The songs and music were very much in traditional bharatnatyam forms. Chitra Yasudas as singers. A complete package. It was only after 2004's resurrected kannada version by Vasuji that gained popularity. Manichitrathazlu was beyond comparison at that time.

Basic research: how can you forget the iconic Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu where Shobhona's acting still gives goosebumps. And yes first Bhool Bhulaiya was great as it talked about psychological disorder and not some mumbo-jumbo like 2nd part. Unfortunately psychological horror thrillers doesnt work and we get stupid films like Shaitaan with black magic and all.Anyway hope part 3 will have something interesting but i doubt as Aneez Bazmee is no Priyadarshan

The film Bhool Bhulaiyaa film means a lot for me, this movie was the first Akki-Priyettan movie I watched released when I was 4 years old. I was very addicted to this film, ki main haunted house ki drawings banati thi and acting bhi karti thi horror stories banati thi, shayad tabhi se mujhe writing and direction ka shauq bhi hone laga. 📽 Jab main 7 saal ki thi to main Agra gayi thi for a medical tour, to jis hotel mein main rahi thi wahan apne parents ke saamne maine Manjulika ki acting ki and papa was joking ki arey aise mat karo nahi to poora hotel khaali ho jayega.😂😂 Main bachpan aksar apne do doston ke saath dekhti thi who meant the world to me, shayad maine kabhi apni Avni naam ki dost ko mazaak mein Manjulika to kaha hi hoga and aksar khel khel mein horror stories sunate they or main aksar horror stories likhti thi (though I don't like horror). Abhi last year maine apne socitey ke bachchon ke saath ek Horror short film shoot karne ki nakaam koshish ki thi, usmein the kids were acting of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and script bhi developed nahi thi, to dekhkar bura laga ki aaj kal ke bachche log cringy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 pasand karte par kuch bhi ho, Bhool Bhulaiyaa is an emotion for me. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Lots of Love to Akki sir for a beautiful childhood memory and Priyettan sir for inspiring me for my dreams.❤❤
