Thank you Acho and Shady for you said regarding Angel Reese's villain-ness. And with all due respect to Joy's take, she's wrong! Angel brought all of the criticism onto herself. When she was winning she was always very high and quite ready to stick it into the face of people. Sometimes those people deserved it. But a LOT of times, they didn't. When Caitlin lost last year, she was asked about the Angel taunting her and her teammates. Caitlin's response was NOTHING BUT CLASS. That is why she is beloved. It isn't because she is white. And Angel being treated as the villain is black. It's how each person has handled SUCCESS!!! Angel got her vitriol from people because of how she and her teammates decided to carry themselves. Even up to the start of the game! The Iowa teammates were out on the court during the national anthem, holding hands. The LSU team was in the locker room, segregating themselves from not just the world, but giving the middle finger to everyone while doing it. LSU could have always endeared themselves to the country and given due respect to the country, the fans, and their opponent, but they DECIDED not to. Those are the FACTS. People are LOVING Caitlin and the Iowa team for how they have handled defeat AND how they have handled success. That is a basic life lesson. Lastly, I'll say this about Joy's comments. People DO criticize MALE villains. We dog them whenever we see them. And if they do it over and over and over, we forever vilify them. We dogged the Bad Boys for DECADES after their loss Chicago. The difference between the Bad Boys and Angel Reece is that the Bad Boys NEVER ACTED LIKE A PUNK VICTIM AND CRIED!!!

This was her last college game. So many emotions! I hate that this is the story of her last game! She showed up in a way that folks wasn’t ready for! When she did all her taunting folks said she was doing too much but some loved it. The villain role came from an article she didn’t self proclaim herself the villain. She took a hold to it after being called that. Tears during the tournament are normal. Even the villain has emotions! You can’t knock her game. She is a hooper.

Angel wasn’t crying because she lost, or because people waved her off the court… she can take that bc that ain’t the 1st time she lost… she was crying discussing her off the court experience after they won the champs last year… it’s normal for anyone to cry after losing a spot for the national champs.. Caitlin and her team cried last year in the post presser…

Angel crying about how victimized she is was an insult to Catlin. In essence: "we lost because of all these things I've been subjected to" (many of her own doing) ... rather than "we got outplayed". It's one of the most pathetic things I've seen in college sports. Just wish she had someone grab her and tell her before that press conference, at least behave like a winner.
